I DON'T LAUGH at everything Mencia does, sometimes I think he works too hard for a joke, and sometimes I think in his "edgy" humor, he is a bit crass, or stereotypical, but I haven't seen him in a while.
I found this clip [2 MB] funny, not only because of our favorite Bush impersonator, who is featured for most of the clip, but also just for the first ten seconds of the clip. Maybe you have to be Mexican (or Spanish-speaking in America?) to really belly laugh at it, or maybe even that is an oversimplification. (Hey, you like words? I got lots more, man!)
But I thought it was pretty damn funny, having experienced what I have, growing up with the name Joaquín before Meester Pheenix taught Americans how to anglocize the sound. What I love about the Spanish language is how grand, beautiful, and dramatic it almost requires your pronunciation to be. Mencia's joke highlights this. Of course, it will not be funny now, as I have properly drained all humor from what might have been there. Nonetheless, watch it!
