If you don't pay attention, you'll just absorb all the hypnotism against non-Whites on a subconscious level. It will seep into your mind and make your decisions for you. After all, this is what the constant barrage of media is best for. It comes at us from the time we are young and not even able to discern truth from lie so well, let alone comprehend why on earth humans would purposely be so deceptive as our corporate structures who so heavily influence social norms and mores are. Those who are still in the fog of this hype will, when they run up against a blog like The Unapologetic Mexican, declare "Oh god, another militant -------- (pick a word) who sees racism everywhere." I happen to know some of my readers entertain this sad lie as a bedrock of their views on this writer, because I've seen where they link from.

But guess what. In this country, there is racism everywhere. And if you don't see it, it's because you're being a good, hypnotized subject who has personal reasons for not seeing the racism. Of course, the obvious signs of racism are addressed in this society. They are obvious! And we like the pretense of being a kind and civilized and enlightened culture. So we praise Rosa Parks and we quote MLK, and we make a Black or Brown friend in the supermarket, and we call Racism dead.

But like a snake in the shadows, it lives, and racism winds around the ankles of any progress we think we are making. One of the ways racist perception is propagated is by peppering the "News" with anti-brown reports. The subtlety lies in the fact that you, the average reader or viewer, will not be taking measurements or comparing rates of stories, or giving any benefit of the doubt to these criminals in any shape. You will just feel, in time, that there is a growing threat from brown and black people (or whomever is on the menu for the year), and non-discerning audience members will use this feeling to reinforce their images and thoughts that were originally drawn from poisoned media to begin with. Finally, the media sources can claim they are simply Reporting the News! After all, the stories are true.

However, let's not be naïve. I think in today's news-savvy society, we are all very aware that there is no "The News," but a world of happenings from which reporters cull and shape their stories and story choices based on what the station's agenda is.

When someone told me You will always see the face of a wanted black man in the news at all times, I did a little experiment. I paid attention. And sure enough, it was true. Every paper I read in New York City had a mug shot of a black man who was wanted for something terribly violent. Now, I won't go into any ideas about the crime and crime-ridden situations that our society corrals certain groups of people into, let's leave that alone for right now. But it is true that there is plenty of crime being committed by White males too. Lots of it. But how often do you see a blue-eyed, fair-haired boy in the news, wanted for some violent crime? Hmmmm?

And now, in the past few months, I have noticed an upsurge of stories that tell everyone how criminal, crazy, and dangerous Latinos are.

And we are hombre, right? Teeming at the border with our machetes, drawing blood from ourselves in our insane Aztec rituals, losing our "fiery" tempers and ready to overrun America with a violent parade of jalapeños and Español.

Some stories never change. Some fears never change. Some tribes, no matter how much they conquer, and no matter how many races they enslave, will forever run in fear from their history of murder and oppression, dreaming up demons on the way. And who gets harmed? You, me, our children? The debt seems never to be paid. But I think someone—and it ain't tha Brown—is running up a mighty big tab.

Watch the Crazy Latina flip out just because some sneering, snide reporter with a camera keeps dogging her steps. Watch her criminal husband beat the face of the poor, blonde and honorable reporter. And you know how you can tell the Latinos are the scum, here? Because even the Black fella is helping the White guy! It just proves what we all know is true. Those Latinos are a dangerous breed, and we have got to get them under better control. Even if it means uniting Black and White to do it.
