The Sound of Trumpets
Categorized under Medios | Tags: Viernes Noche Música
I get up at about 4 or 4:30 every morning, and as part of my routine, I scan the news and blogs. You know how it is. You usually end up frustrated, sad, sometimes sneering, sometimes laughing, often thoughtful. But usually annoyed a bit. The Mex Files brought me a bright spot this morning with their posting of a concert hall mariachi piece (posted below the cut). Here is a video of a mariachi in the street which I hope will put a smile on your face. It did for me. A breather between articles about how all our government cares about is money and power and fuel and blood and keeping the people asleep with tiny little prozacambienpropagandictelevision smiles curling up the corners of our mouths. Here's some sun, some smiling brown faces, some singing, and some brass, instead.
As a side note, I find it funky in a fate-tastic sort of way that the two instruments I chose to play in school were both trumpet and violin. ¡Órale!
The concert hall version. What duds, eh? In both clips. I need to get me some new clothes, vato. And a reallllllly big guitar.

kick it, ése.
