8 things beautiful

THIS POST MAY SHOCK ANY READERS who have followed yours truly from blog to blog, since I began this online form of expression/exhibition/notation/socialization in May of 2001. If there's anything I've kept constant it is my aversion to memes, viral simon sezzes, or other forms of online social funfests that probably give the participants lots of happy moments, and myself only a variety of lip-curling gestures. But I have been "tagged" to do one, and since it is a visual meme, and since I find the blogger a kind and earnest person, I will avoid letting her know just how anti-social and stickinthemuddish I can be and play along. (I created a new category for you woman! You have changed my life!) So this meme of "find or create images of eight things I find amazing in picture form" is brought to you by Donna, from The Silence of Our Friends. Give her a hand because she just won the Ugliest Blog Template Ever award, and when you are done clapping, shed a tear of sympathy for me, because when she reads that I have awarded her this, she will most probably delink me. Thus, the dangers of including Nezua Limón to your water-balloon party. He'll pop them open and guzzle every one.
Finally, I do not encourage other bloggers to begin tagging me for like exercises, as my time is normally limited to many weighty and intellectual pursuits, the world requires my undivided attention to these matters etc etc etc
1.

It's about images. So just sit with this one for a moment. Remember the place. Look at the steel and history and politics in this man's way. Amazing. He's my hero, and I'll never see his face.
2.

I consider this smile a repeat of the man's stance in picture 1. Except the man lived to tell the tale, while this little girl was crushed by her own relentless tank.
3.

the reds, the browns, the blue...

the greens, and pinks

but mostly the air under this boy's step
5.
6.

7.

i paraphrase stephen king and say the heart is a muscle that moves the world and add that in a way, this is also a repeat of image #1.
8.

And I make this completely optional, but as it seems to be part of such "tagging" exercises—I, in turn, tag XP, Leesee, Lynn, bfp, Nanette, Turtlebella, and Kai (seems someone tagged Kai already) Fred. If you've already been tagged, well, then tag yourself good one time for me (in spirit, of course) and then let it go. If you're too busy, I understand. Just move along and do your thang.
Now let this be the end of such non-serious and fun-type exercises! They have no place in the adult world!

kick it, ése.
