Seriously, this is an ad for the GOP. But you really can't tell. It drools, it bows, it curtseys, nay—it grovels—before the might of the shadow killer known to us media-consumers as THE TERRORIST. This spot is a terror-porn piece fresh from the basement deck, and the steamy thumbprints are still on the cellophane. But that's par for the course. Because that's what today's GOP is. They are rampant fear-junkies, and this little nugget is like a blast off the Crack Pipe of Terror. Sssssssooooooowwwwwww—hold it. Feel the pounding in your skull. Blackness creeping around the edge of your vision. Fear rushing like pins-n-needles up your voting arm....

Reaching for the coveted daisy, this ad truly reflects the tenor of the supposed GWOT; an ebon-drenched, heartbeat-tracked, machine-gun adorned little fear-fest from an imagination gone awry. An existential K-hole, for those who can follow the lingo. Remember, this is the Republicans' New Normal. This is how they want you to live all the time. They would be happy if you lived every day as if it were The Day After.

But wouldn't you rather have men and women who don't, perhaps, spend every day's first (and probably last) moments thinking about death and terror and bombs, but perhaps instead how to meet the fury and sadness and anger of the people of the world with the power of atonement, the sustenance of a brave heart, and the endurance of an honest view? To decide what a force such as the USA can do to help meet the world halfway? heal the world? feed the world? harmonize the world?

These are dreams. These are a way forward. This is hope. This is how the human fulfills his role here in the three-dimensional plane. This is how to use the mind and the heart in conjunction.

The Republicans ask you to keep them in power with no reasoning and no mind, and with no soul. They want to strike right at your shit-stained pants, your five year old pants, your lizard brain, your night-terror mind. They are thugs, creeps, bullies, terrorists. They have nada, and their vision of the world is one mired back in the primitive mud, in the sour sweaty clench of a mean boy's fist, who meets you on a empty strange street. Takes your shit and leaves you with a knot on your head and dust on your lips. We'll do what we want because you can't stop us. They pretend to be bold, talking shotguns and jihad and Victory®, but they are too scared to tell the people what they are really after, and what really thrills them. They accomplish their feats by theft and misdirection, and an Orwellian style of perverting language into lie. What bravery is there here? I see none. I see no power, no might, no rescue. I see tiny men operating big shadows. Even if I were scared, I wouldn't want the GOP in my corner. You are nobody's daddy. You cannot protect. You are the wicked uncle, spinning lies at dusk as you massage your aching knuckle.

But I know...there's a reason I don't give way to these sorts of appeals to sanity, or to reasonable discussion on certain topics any more. These types of texts are now worthless. We are not in an Age of Reason, but of Fear. We have been united in holy acrimony by The Decider. Those who know better (you, I'm presuming) do not need to be convinced. And those who are blindly following these demons to their logical ends can no longer be reached. I would not waste my energies.

But I would give propz. Those are some well-executed Tae Kwon Do moves, although a bit sloppy. Nice speed on the porkchop pad, and good power on the Spin-Back Side Kick.
