The Wicked Woman (She's in Power)
Categorized under Política Estados Unidos , Sexismo | Tags: Nancy Pelosi
WHEN I SEE BLATANT SIGNS OF SEXISM and racism thriving in everyday adult, supposedly-educated discourse, I just feel...stunned. I know I retain some kind of odd naïveté about the world, but I honestly don't get why every person capable of self-actualization isn't interested in making an effort to both act wiser and to teach others by making this choice, by example. Especially when said person is on TV or in a government position. I honestly do not know what to make of humans who purposely stoke racism in a country so bloodied by this exact type of hate/fear/ignorance in order to get or keep a high-paid seat of office in which they are meant to act as the People's representative. I truly cannot imagine what it is like inside the mind of a person who knows better, but chooses to use their power, language, or influence to hurt people, to leverage sexism or old, tired, memes in order to....what? Come out ahead? Yikes. I do not want to see the medal handed out at the end of that particular race.
So the history on the House leadership – we had the Hammer, Tom Delay, and now we have the Wicked Witch of the West, Nancy Pelosi..."
—Mort Kondracke
A man with no morals or scruples, known for manipulation so unethical his long-practiced crimes force him into retirement is called The Hammer. (Kondracke gloats, though, that "Delay, in his day, he got his way.") But a woman who makes history as the most powerful woman in American politics and consequently goes about doing her job for a few days is called The Wicked Witch of the West. For "twisting arms and making, er, having her aides make threats." (When pressed to answer if that really happened, Mister Kondracke replies "Supposedly." And then he belittles her for "not getting her way" anyway.)
Aren't we trying to move ahead, Sir Kondom? Aren't we trying to be intelligent humans here? Aren't you proud of Nancy Pelosi? Aren't you proud to be an American, a land that gives women the opportunity to become Nancy Pelosis? Not so much, eh? And a bit confused to boot. Because you sound scornful of The Speaker of the House for not twisting hard enough to be lauded by you for "getting her way." Yet you insult her for "twisting arms" at all. So I'm sort of left feeling like it's all smoke, and in reality, you would prefer a different type of human in her seat. Perhaps one who could excite you by swinging his hammer around.

kick it, ése.
