fingerprinting babies?!

Someone told me today that they are keeping the children in the prison as a "temporary solution." Isn't that what the Nazis said?

So, if they're doing this with the "unused prison" in Texas (is that an oxymoron? Or did they just go ahead and kill all of the "brown people" in Texas jails, and ran out of new inmates??!!?), then what are they planning to do with those Halliburton "projects" that are supposed to be so super-secret but aren't, those giant super-max prisons that have not, as yet, been designated a "purpose," but are sucking down tax dollars like coke through a republicunt's nose?

Be expecting those microchip implants any day now, kids. As if tracking you through your cellphone wasn't enough... For us po' folks who don't have cellphones, I guess that the implants won't be optional... Seeing as how it's generally the losing sides of the class war who usually get nailed first.

You don't suppose that by finger-printing the babies, the government would be able to figure out the difference between kids that were born in the U.S. (and thereby American citizens), and the ones that entered illegally (and thereby NOT American citizens), do you?

I think there are elements of this type of surveillance already in place. I am almost sure of it. And it's a truism that the more power an Empire senses slipping away from them, the more violent and intrusive and dangerous they fight to hold it.

Now, Mexican babies and families suffer. If we think that is the end of it, we're in for a rude awakening.

Thomas Anderson, I thought you knew (per the harpy pilipina pundit MM) that babies of the Brown Persuasion, albeit born in the U.S., can never be "American Citizens." The correct nomenclature for them is "Anchor Babies." MM knows whereof she speaks, being herself of the Brown Persuasion, and an Anchor Baby to boot. And to boot her would be a worthwhile endeavour.

Oh, it's definitely quite an "increment". Methinks the citizenry of today would only get truely up in arms if their 'bread and circus' was somehow interfered with. I recently heard Thom Hartmann discussing a book which interviewed people who lived in Germany during the thirties, attempting to answer the question of how the citizenry could let things happen as they did. I wish I could remember the book's title. But one of the main things they said was that nothing happened all at once. It was in increments with periods of relative "normalcy" following--until the next thing occurred. I could relate to the eery feelings. Many expressed how easy it was to be seen as an alarmist, because any one thing at any time was always assigned a 'good reason' or only affected a small part of the population, usually somehow disaffected. I am frequently looked at as an alarmist by many I know in person. I mean, habeas corpus--what's that? Or, I have nothing to hide, so why should I care if people's homes can be searched without ever telling them. Or wiretapped. Let's not even start with the insanity of torture. Etc. Etc. Etc. It's mainly in the blogosphere that I've discovered others who feel as I do and are actually active about trying to do something. Anyone I've met in person who is like minded isn't really doing anything about it, not even writing Congress. Thus I could care less anymore who thinks I'm an 'alarmist'.
I can whole heartedly recommend the Thom Hartmann radio program for your "adult daily requirement of sanity". If you like history, he's the man. Plus, his new book "Screwed" is a must read.

As the grandchild of hollocaust survivors and as a human this story is absolutely frightening and shows the true evil behind the ICE raids.

I'd like to send this blog post to some reporters I know but I really need to be able to point to the source on those stories of babies being fingerprinted while in detention. I see the link goes to the texas civil rights review but even they don't site a source I can track to really. There must be some records that the social services people have that can back this all up, right? Or the lawyers working on the case?
