0THE FRONT PAGE, search results, and various individual pages are going to be all sorts of funkadelic for a day, tops. Finally getting rid of some old mishmash code I've been dragging forward through various versions of Movable Type changes since 2.x. I was on this software back in the day, 'mano. Back when they were charging everyone through the nose for install or support, and only businesses and techies used it. So I kept dragging pieces of code with me after customizing pages and templates, and time passed, and then they'd change the style names and everything got weird and buggy and RSS feeds started getting lost, and my trackbacks NEVER register, despite all the linking (unless it's spam and pr-n trackbacks? I don't know what's up with that.) So while I've had many thoughts on a few issues going around, and do have one or two half finished, my time is going into the nuts and bolts for a little while.

One of those tasks you dread for a long time, but know it will pay off when you finally get to it. (Like the upgrade from 2.6 to 3.3! Wow. Talk about progress in software usability and functioning. Not much for styles, though. I've always built mine pretty much to liking.) I've been on it for a bit, on and off for a couple days, starting to go crisp, but closing in on things. Front blog page should even load smoother (I just tested it, it proved me a liar, but we'll get there), regardless of the fact that I have at least as many images, as well as some javascript going on (on a trial basis to see how I dig it), and that's because I cleaned up over 100 XHTML violations in the code. Yikes. Any Javascript wizards out there? I'd love to have an eye look over this block on my index to see if it could be streamlined. Validator is telling me it has some bugs. Don't know if that's true of if it's trying to read JS as XHTML.

Okay. Taking a break for food and caffiene. There'll be real content again. I promise. Eventually. Meanwhile, this will keep your inner Geexican happy.
