Saddam Hussein Dead
Categorized under Iraq the Casbah | Tags:
DOWNSTAIRS on the radio they just announced that Saddam Hussein was hanged dead?
I don't know...but I don't feel happy or anything. I sort of just feel sick in my gut. Why is that?
update: Chicago Dyke has a sick writeup of this. Jesus' General kicks some ass, too, with his letter to the Decider.

The sick feeling comes from the recognition it is nothing but a sick voyeuristic sideshow to the real tragedy unfolding daily in the news.
The youth of this country, our future, is being sacrificed everyday so these cocksuckers can make a buck on their oil and investments.
That is truly a tragedy in so many levels and we are years from putting it to rest. Look how long it took Vietnam to come to an end, and yet we knew all was lost in 1968 or '69?
More than 54,000 young Americans died for what? Pride? Arrogance? Indecision? Stupidity? It's a tough call.

yeah, leesee. you pretty much nailed it.
i guess it kind of felt like...as long as he was alive, it meant that our disastrous UNWARRANTED invasion was still a comma, and could be added to, taken from, somehow mitigated. But now that Bush's GrudgeBuddy is dead-dead-dead, our action has a period. There's no denying it. A period punched down in indelible ink. Sure, Saddam's is hardly the most important death in all of this. But as a symbol he is now martyrifically stamped into the entire bloody mess forever. Is it possible we have made him more of a hero than he ever could have been simply by associating such nuremburgian violation with his demise?
yup. and that, too, is part of the sick feeling. a horror on top of a horror on top of horrors. when will we reach the bottom? do i even want to know?

I couldn't have said it better then you guys the whole thing is sickening.
Saddam was found responsible for killing of (143) Iraqis at
Bush Sr - Death Toll from Embargo over 1.3 Million
Bush Jr - 50000 civilian deaths
also U.S. deaths from the war exceed the total killed in 9/11 attacks.

absurd thought -
God of the Universe sings
DING DONG THE BUTCHER’S DEAD…
if there is a BIG bad HELL
Saddam’s registered by now
absurd thought -
God of the Universe wept
when Saddam was killed
he wanted him pissed on
being dragged through Baghdad

Sadly, the BUTCHER cannot be killed with a rope. Sadly, THE BUTCHER lives on. THE BUTCHER cannot be found at the end of a finger. Sadly, we point past graveyards, gallows, and gold mines...and still we cannot exterminate him, exptirpate his kin, or send him into exile.
Sadly, as long as we stage shows like Iraq, we never will.
