Rights to the Left of me, Torture to the Right

grafik by Nezua SOME BAD NEWS, SOME GOOD. And why would I think it bad news that the inmates of Guantanamo are denied the rights of Americans? Because I do not believe in this notion that when it comes to human rights, what is Wrong to do to human beings on our side of a bloody line in the sand can be Right to do to human beings on the other side. Dig: If Americans have (been told they have) certain unshakeable and important (inviolable) human rights, it is not because they are better than other humans! It is because someone in America thought of a right that should apply to a Person, were law to be designed to protect people.

Washington - In the first legal decision on a federal law that denies access to U.S. courts to detainees in the war on terrorism, a federal judge ruled Wednesday that foreign prisoners held at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, could not sue for freedom.

But, in a split decision, U.S. District Judge James Robertson also ruled that the law's denial of that right to the more than 12 million legal immigrants living in the United States was unconstitutional.

But at least the latter part of the decision makes me feel a little better. Imagine that. People living in America who support her cacaphonous piston-churning engine of might with their dollars and sweat having the rights the rest of us (superior) folks do. Now if we could just find a way to not only force them to speak proper English, but, you know....lighten up!

Now, the best part. We get to kick back and listen to Michelle Malkin Maglalang start howling.
