Somos Esas Gente

grafik by Nezua I ENJOY THE DYNAMIC of bloggers supporting each other. From reading his own words, I know a certain APPO-hatin' BloggerinMexico who solicits purchases of his sponsored/favorite merchants, but who also makes a point of saying "I'm not into that whole thing"—the donation buttons on the sidebar, finds it offputting...but why? At least it is the community helping itself to talk to itself, and supporting each other's efforts without liaisons (aside from Paypal, but if we can barter or mail cash that's fine, too, Paypal makes it possible at all right now), bypassing the crooked, dinosaurial MSM. That is a good thing, vato. I love that we gather of our own free will and support those voices we feel deserve to stay active. Remember what we had before so many people got down wit da blogando. We had traditional reporting, much less acountability, bias that was hidden or disguised as something else, less flow of information, and much less self-education across the board. The amounts we give to help useful voices keep speaking is sure worth more than I used to spend on my daily three newspapers when I was commuting around the city like a good worker bee.

It's a new way of thinking, and I like it. Somos esas gente. We are those People they speak of. You and I are the ones with the energy, the numbers and the resources. No anonymous groups of Lords or Ladies turn this wheel. It is you and I, la gente, the People.

Hmmmm... who could that mysterious right-winger "inMexico" be?

Hey, I like pay pal donations, and the more the better. A "free" press doesn't mean we don't have expenses. Geeze, I was off line for almost a month when I couldn't pay my phone bill (and electric bill, and register my car -- which I haven't done, and rent...). Alas, my readers (viewers?) aren't close enough to drop off a couple kilos of pinto beans or a case of toilet paper, so I guess pay pal will have to do... it ain't perfect, but beats the alternative for those of us who didn't plan ahead and have rich parents.

absolutely...to spend so much time on anything requires resources. and pinto-pal!
