Three Posters Not Selling Oaxaca

Categorized under Acción | Tags: , , ,

HERE ARE THREE POSTERS to download and print out and hang in the places you think might spark thoughts, or start conversation on the topic. The way I think of it, and the way I was thinking when I designed these, I really am aiming just to drop a question into someone's mind. We're all pretty inured against random media blitzes. So I tried to come sideways at the issue, raise an eyebrow for just a moment instead of screaming or pleading or anything that will get filtered out immediately by most people.

I think many people that are not as politically savvy as you and I hardly know what "Oaxaca" is, let alone know how to pronounce it by sight, let alone care enough to talk about it. So even the sight of the odd word in an oddly-scripted poster could be enough to make it stick for a while. 'm not looking to inform, rouse and convert with just one (or three) strategically-placed poster(s). I'd be happy just to plant a seed. So the next time the person sees the word, or hears about it, they say "Yeah...I remember that! What is going on with that whole deal, anyway?"

Thinking optomistically, I imagine that the right poster at the right time in the right place will even get the right person curious enough to go bang on the Google forthwith.

And as both you and I can testify, a whole lot can change once one person becomes driven by their heart to do something about one issue.

So enjoy. And if you get one in an interesting place and take a foto, please send me a copy! And enjoy whatever else you do with your day, whether it's blogging, working, or just kickin' back.

the jesus poster doesn't download right--there is nothing in the bubble and the red in the "why should i" is missing.

maybe it is just my computer?

I tried it Luisa, and it worked....I don't know. It took a moment for all parts to fill in. Let me finish the posters and post I"m working on now (for the meatpacking plant immigration round up juvenile jail scene) and I'll try saving the file another way. If anyone else runs into a problem, or even if it works for them, please leave a comment.
