National Guard Runs From Unseen Mexicans
Categorized under Hipnotismo , Migra , Terrorizing la Gente | Tags: border, Fear, hype, Mexicans, migra, national guard, propaganda
O, WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED that there is a bug-eyed fearcaster on the tube telling us that "according to the Border Patrol," a group of Dirtyboldcowardlymexicans forced US National Guardsmen to "retreat" from their post? Why am I not surprised that there is a link claiming the "Border attack" (of which nothing further is described save that the Dirtyboldcowardlymexicans then "quickly retreated back into Mexico," themselves) "raises security concerns"?
A U.S. Border Patrol entry Identification Team site was overrun Wednesday night along Arizona's border with Mexico.
According to the Border Patrol, an unknown number of gunmen attacked the site in the state's West Desert Region around 11 p.m. The site is manned by National Guardsmen. Those guardsmen were forced to retreat.
The Border Patrol will not say whether shots were fired. However, no Guardsmen were injured in the incident.

Why are the alleged Mexicans called "gunmen" in the article's second sentence, and yet there is no report of any gunfire? Why are we supposed to have pride in our National Guard if they run from Mexicans they cannot see, who may not even be armed? And why should I see this as anything but selective fearmongering intended to enlist the American public in more incarcerations of Mexicans, and for whatever lies ahead?
My favorite line (in the video of the newscast): The Mysterious Mexicans were "intentionally trying to do something or other to cause harm."

isn't it illegal now to even think of something-or-other, no matter whether harm be intended or not? to-be-seen-while-brown-skinned?
stories like this seem to be prepping the ground for 'raisonable 'scuses' to conduct further para-military style ops on the 'other side' - remember the helicopter incursion of mexican airspace when Marcos was at the juarez/el paso bridge?

Something or other is very frowned upon in Arizona.

"Mommy I saw Timmy do something over there."
"What dear, what did you see?"
"Something or other!"

i know, right? i see it as his emotional agenda showing through a lack of glossy packaging of his true intention. "must scare them...tho i have nothing of substance to use, i'll just throw something out there."
this is aside from any comment on anything that may have happened at the border. but this fella is showing that he's certainly got an opinion on whatever it was.

Arcturus,
They made a point out of it being an "intentional" something-or-other because that makes it a first degree offense. It doubles the penalties for the whats-its and other such going ons.

True, Pvt. Fuodd, but if you plead down to Probable Attempted Stuff-Trying, you can get out in less than six months.

Looks like they are taking this "Border attack" story on the road. It was the story they were trying to peddle here in Texas. The only difference, in AZ the Mexicans are called "gunmen" in TX it was the Mexican Army that was attacking the border. I guess now that Mexico has a new President, it would be wrong of the Bush Administration to make claims that Calderon is ordering a Mexican invasion.
My guess, those so-called Mexican gunmen are the loony American Minutemen who are trying hard to scare people into building that wall.

that adds a much larger view to this story, XP. and makes a lot of sense.

You might be right, XP.
But somehow the image of the American National Guard running from a bunch of guys is gonna make for a lot of laughs in international venues.
If the guys really were Minutemen, they just made the job of the American army in Iraq a lot harder.

However it is played out, the end result is the same - it is bad for the National Guard. Like here in TX, the stories will simply be forgotten. It will be interesting to see what the Gov will do. My guess, she will whine on how the Feds refuse to help and she will no longer take it any more. She will then proclaim that she and AZ lege will take matters into their own hands.
