The Heart and Mind of Augmentation
Categorized under Arte , Derechos Humanos , Iraq the Casbah | Tags: Capitalism, Child Abuse, fotoshop, Imperialism, Iraq, terrorism

YOU KNOW...IF YOU SAY IT ENOUGH TIMES, the word doesn't really make sense anymore, does it? Then again, it didn't make sense the first time.
If it comes up again...if anyone wonders why I lose my cool and cannot discuss this war and all that surrounds it rationally; if anyone gets benumbed by the constant hipnotismo that oozes from the muscular messaging machine in this land and begins to forget why I become "irrational" or "dramatic" or "extreme" or speak "radically" or clench my hands and seethe when one of today's "politicians" begins to rape the truth on television, feel free to bookmark this page.
My heart cannot be voted upon, my conscience will not fit into a machine gun cartridge, my allegiance does not belong to folded fabric, and my behavior is not beholden to your etiquette-laden encyclopedias. But you can find my soul alive in this child's eyes.

When Nixon invaded Cambodia, it was called an 'incursion'. [And only later a 'limited objective invasion' - which is the sort of invasion we claim to do now, it seems, so that we can go into denial about blatant imperialism, militarism, and general mayhem.]

She sounds like she is reciting from a "male enhancement" spam email as opposed to, oh I don't know, a well thought out government plan for success in a otherwise disastrous war.
But thats just me....

augmentation? the crazy bat can call it what she wants, to the people that lose their children there are no words that will cover it. it reminds me of your post on how limiting language is. and to think condi is the smart one out of bush's team (not that she is not a wht supremacist, not that she is right, but she can name all of the countries--she is smart like that).
and, fuck, Nezua at least warn me before you shove dead babies in my face. now, i am crying before noon on saturday.

I agree with you nezua--the only thing that I would say tho, is that i know from my own readership, there's a lot of women who have family in those areas or who came from those areas, and to have to see this stuff without a warning is like a violation, you know? so after a lot of thought for me on my blog (which I, of course, have a different readership than you do), i decided to give warnings--but I recognize each blog is different and we all approach things in different ways. Just something that's come up for me--

She's confusing plastic surgery with foreign policy. Understandable mistake.
This isn't the first time she's done this little play on words and you'd think from the last time she tried it that she'd know that she sucks really bad at it.
Remember when she said the Clinton administration hadn't left a "plan"...rather a group of ideas that led to specific actions?
I would just love to get ahold of whatever Pinky and the Brain playbook they are using.

when i first seen this post i first thought that a warning would have been nice as well.
i get why you didn't give one.
with or without a warning, it makes no difference, the pictures are still disturbing.

in the end, i just think it's awfully fucking arrogant for any of us to want to turn away or ask others to dampen the pain of looking directly at the truth. in fact, that's the point of this post. i can understand not wanting to watch the hanging of saddam (i didnt), but these childrens injuries are the direct result of our actions in Iraq. nonetheless, i omitted many images which were truly shocking and stomach-upsetting.
i am sorry to anyone who disagrees.

i agree with your reasons. i would still have looked at the post either way. things like this help people remember things they would rather forget or not know.
