Blogroll Amnesty Day
Categorized under Blogando | Tags: 2007 Blogger Stylebook
FROM THE ICY BLUE MARBLE halls of Eschaton, a rumor has escaped and scampered to the sanctuary of my humble, adobe-lined abode where it has been fed cinnamon-stick tea and pan de muertos (cuz I've never eaten any other kind of Mexican bread, and also because that's just what Rumors prefer).
A Blogroll Amnesty Day has been suggested, wherein you are free to delete, decompile, depilate, or deregulate your extensive blogroll and build it back up, shape it, or make it anew with nary a whisper of guilt. After all, once this is part of the Stylebook, it's not your idea. It's just a Blog Thing. This pleases me to no end.
Ahem [trumpet blast]. Due to—if for no other reason—its clever method of removing my own sense of guilt in such necessary actions, I feel this idea is worthy of entering the 2007 Blogger Stylebook (o'er which I have final say, por supuesto), and hereby do so add it with all the punctiliousness and pomp that is officially required, in this day of our Lorca, In Maize we Trust, Hay-men. I give the customary low sweeping, reverent bow and using every last cc of the power invested in me by el Sol and la Noche, do declare it SO. (If you want. And for any concerned citizens, know that your decison and actions today will not affect your uptime in any way at all, nor will they weight your Eternal Karmic Tally or be noticed by Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes® officials.)

You know the marketers are going to turn this into another commercial spend fest, and the true meaning of the Amnesty will be lost.

Hey Nez and yes, I am thinking of redoing my own blogroll.
Sorta related, and sorta not - I got your message, and no, my evil post has absolutely nothing to do with you! I posted to the post inviting me to this weird ambush, that those people should e-mail me directly if they want to talk.
This was all I was going to do, but I was *fuming* and what they want is to see some *emotion* so I posted that post in case they have questions - and to get it out of my head. I am not sure it was a good idea, it may be a Temporary Post.
xxx yo.

It is the attack of the volatile ego, and it is really sad because many of them begin to think that they are special because they are gifted and therefore deserving of much more than they get. Ego is something that can either be healthy because it can help build confidence or a dark monster of your own making.
Take American Idol for example, the main purpose of the show is to see who is willing to jump through hoops, chase a carrot that some will never get to obtain wealth through humiliation. Simon does nothing more but sit there with his inflated ego with a task of humiliating people to the point of tears. "Aww...what doesn't kill ya just makes you stronger" is the attitude with a meme of yo vat@, if you want to be famous you have to take my shit, lick my boots without complaint, even if I rag on you and your mama, just take it like a man, pussy. And it is this attitude that has spread slowly like a cancer in this country.
Instead of encouragement and help they are taught that the world they wish to be part of is ruthless and they must be ruthless also. The attitude of being able to crush da shit outta of someone is a lesson that won't be forgotten by some.
So now the blogging gatekeepers, rather not getting to a debate about ideas they rather go on an offensive attack upon a list of enemies. Using there celebrity status as credibility they do not do the hard task of criticizing the ideas of their opponent, they attack them personally. Insults fly hard and meant to cut deep the squelch any criticism before the issue is even spoken about. Yet these are the ones who run the so-called netroots.
None of these people are performing a job that would save the lives of thousands. They are merely protecting an empire designed to serve only their own self gratification and narcissism.

strong shit, vato.
i always hated american idol on an instinctive level. what a gross statement. what a gross lesson. what a gross show. you point out the asskissing/soulselling for glory that the show teaches. good point. i hadn't thought of that one. i always was put off by the "lucky god" aspect, the lesson that teaches not hard work, focuses not on practice over years, nor love, nor gift that brings joy, but in utter celebrity, in ZAP YOU WIN in Bestest of the Bunch lessons. ugh. what a perfect symbol of our national face...what a perfect title for such a show.
simon's arrogance is funny when you read a little of his background and realize what a pampered failure he is. he is yelling at himself in the form of other people, and getting paid millions to do it on TV. what a wild ride!
pienso tu sabe más de este blogroll cosa que hago. interesante. email me algunos secretos si you get un momento 'mano.
