Lt. Watada Makes His Stand
Categorized under Política Estados Unidos , Resistencia | Tags: Iraq, Watada
TODAY BEGINS THE TRIAL OF LT. EHREN WATADA, a brave soldier who will be one of the heroes of this time, I think. So many of us know the truth of how wrong this war is, but few take such a stand as Lt. Watada.
I watch with great interest and hope.

Yeah, I have hope too. Not a lot, maybe, but some. Mostly I'm happy that he is out there, speaking out. On behalf of us all. I'm glad there will be some 'official' record that there are Americans- heroes - patriots, even- who believe this war is wrong. Lately I've felt the need to do more to establish to the 'world' that the Bush govt. does NOT stand for me. Not in my name, kind of thing. There's a post brewing here, somewhere.

Wait for the rolling thunder that will be the talk-hate radioheads railing against this guy. If, it hasn't started yet.

I just spotted an article about Watada's legal grounds and defenses on AlterNet a few minutes ago. From the sounds of the challenges, Watada's case could be pivotal in fragmenting or cementing the president's wartime powers if it gets past the legal question versus political question phase of adjudication.
