Palestinian Family Released from Hutto

Categorized under Migra | Tags: , ,

grafik by Nezua I'VE TALKED ABOUT the DHS/Swift/Hutto/Labor-busting raids that landed many Mexican families and their children in the Hutto Residential Prison or whatever cute nickname it's going by today. Many peeps in these parts of the cybergeography have been following these events. It was very emotional watching it all go down. Mostly we've waited, sometimes kept our hands busy or spread the word; sometimes demonstrated, and sometimes when it was too heartbreaking, we may have chosen to laugh, bitterly. There have been so many people affected, and even more unknowns. It is by no means over.

According to various news sources, as well as our always-attentive-to-the-issue Latina Lista, the first family has been released. It's the Palestinian family that's been in the news before. It's a start, feels like a direction at least. Gives some hope. I imagine on the inside of such places, it's easy to feel that nobody cares and time is just dragged-out misery. Maybe this will give to those families, and especially all the niñ@s, some hope with which they can whittle down their hours away from freedom.

A moment for good energy to those swept up in the maw of the clanging, ever clenching Murkan Dream Machine. Thanks to those keeping up with this story, spreading the word, being loud about it.

• Latina Lista has some pics.
bfp lays it down real nice

Fear mongering asshat Glen beck has some nice choice words for the "camps", camps that he likes because he as a White Man(tm) will never have to face the like. That is unless the Islamofacist or the CommiePinkoLibs take over.

I wish I knew where to find a copy of his Headline news show (audio) so that I can put it up on my podcast. Rat Bastard!

This is what media darlink Glen "Asshat" Beck had to say about the new wave of Concentration Camps:

And three, finally, in Raymondville, Texas, 2,000 non-Mexican illegal aliens are being held in a tent city until they`re sent back to their home countries. But civil liberties groups, surprise, surprise, are now saying that the facility is "inhumane and unsafe". Really?

Well, here`s a quick piece of advice for you. If you want to avoid the unsafe tent city that cost us $65 million to build, don`t break into our country!

The common thread here is, is that good Americans are working their butts off to protect our borders from illegal aliens, but when they try to do their job, the government swoops in and helps the criminals.

Civil rights? You don`t have civil rights here. You`re breaking the law. You have human rights, but no legal rights.

You know what? Problem is, illegals will keep coming as long as our government gives them an open invitation to do so with the full legal protection.

Our government is like a bad set of parents. You know, the kind that tell their kids, "Hey, you behave yourself," but then they never enforce anything? The kids know their parents aren`t going to back up their words, so they run wild.

You want to know why our society is falling apart? It`s because mommy and daddy in Washington are lying to you. They`ll never keep their promises.

They tell us that they care about security. They tell us they want to stop illegal immigration, but they do nothing about it except ribbon- cutting ceremonies and other hollow gestures. Look, we caught 12 people in Los Angeles.

Actually, you know what something, Washington? Simply doing nothing would be an improvement of what you`re doing now. You`re sending the completely insane message to our border police that if you get involved, you`ll go to jail.

Meanwhile, the illegal aliens have lawyers who are trying to get them rooms at the Ritz Carlton! How did this happen in our country?

What a guy!

grrrrrrrrrrrr. I've about had it with this bullshit. Why does every person in the world have to take responsibility for shit that the u.s. government does even have to *dream* about taking responsibility for?

When will the u.s. government take responsibility for the fact that they are on this land illegally? When will they take responsibility for the fact that they have destroyed the livelihoods of almost every poor person of color in the freaking world? When will they have to take responsibility for the fact that when you destroy a persons house and make them choose between feeding their kids or making a payment to your piggy self--eventually, after a while, a person is going to say "fuck you" and choose to feed their kids?

Brief bio: I grew up in the Magnolia neighborhood of Houston TX. I played Little League baseball at 'Mexican' park. Didn't know until a few years later it was actually Hidalgo Park(saw it on a map one day). I was the ONLY white kid there, only white kid who went swimming at De Zavala Park on most days. After HS I lived in Brownsville for about 5 years and now reside in Corpus Christi. I can say from my own personal experience, what I know in my heart, that the most insidious thing people like Glenn Beck, Rush, Lou Dobbs and the rest of their ilk do is dehumanize the people they despise. They see and say criminal, illegal, etc...I see HUMAN BEINGS trying for a better life. I urge everyone reading this to take the time to hand write a POLITE letter to all the advertisers on CNN, include a few of your most objectionable qoutes, and tell them you refuse to have one penny of your hard earned dollars going into the pockets of bigots and hate mongers like Beck, make a copy and deliver it to the manager of your local Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. One letter won't make a difference, a million letters and a drop in sales might.

BTW, I was looking for the audio of the transcript, something to put up on my podcast, but could not find any. Plus I just found out that I was violating all kinds of copyrights laws by the music I was using on my show. If someone knows of some podcast safe music (or would like their music on the show). Please email me at ralfast@gmail.com.

kick it, ése.
