Siesta For Yourself!

Categorized under Salud | Tags:

THOSE DAMN LAZY MEXICANS were smarter than ya thought!

In the largest study to date on the health effects of napping, researchers tracked 23,681 healthy Greek adults for an average of about six years. Those who napped for about half an hour at least three times weekly had a 37 percent lower risk of dying from heart attacks or other heart problems than those who did not nap.

que hubo, Nezua ? I looked at your site before, but couldn't figure out where to click to do a comment. Probably sounds stupid, but my philosophy is-if something is difficult and you don't have to do it, best to just quit. The napping thing was cool-ndn time like Mexican time.

My ex was ndn but grew up around a lot of white people-we would argue over the phrase "right now". I'd say "I'll go to the store right now" or "I'll fix it right now" meaning I'll get to it when I get to it. She would take it literally. Don't know if it's an East LA-ism or if everyone says it. Like saying "more better", Do you guys want pizza ? No, queremos chinese more better.
Later man

Napping is good for you, especially when you laying the hamaca by the beach with a nice cooler full of birras and ist 100+Fuck outside. Only the White Man is stupid enough to try to work through that...oh wait that why the get the slaves, indentured servants and immigrant workers...silly me!

The Murka fooled me again!

Here's stupid. I spent several hours one day trying to figure out how to comment at Michelle Malkin's place.

wow. amazing, that.

but i can definitely see how comments could get out of hand on such a site. especially when you traffic in vitriol.

Vitriol and lies. Real-time fact-checking is soooo inconvenient.

Napping sends a powerful message. To your body, to boring people, to an unimpressive lover... :-p

Capitalism hates sleep. We'll all die of cancer, used as software in the economic machine, I wish I could snooze as much as my cat.

Sabes que, I was looking at the pictures here. I remember the poster of the Brown Beret girl. I've been in love with her for years. The perfect woman, she's beautiful and politically aware. It's an old school picture, so she may be my age. You know what, her standards may be low enough now that I stand a chance with her. Yeah if she's looking for a tall skinny Little Red Lopez-looking viejo-aqui estoy !

nezua limón xolagrafik-jonez dijo:

GRVTR

jaja! you know, i love that pic, too, man. i always bat my eyelashes at her. but then she makes a fist at me and i sit back down.

joe osorio dijo:

GRVTR

Yeah, I'd be saying Yes, Dear. Yes, Dear. Walking behind her at the mall carrying the shopping bags. She'd be the one with the remote, making me watch pinche novelas.

i LOVE naps.
although if i wasn't up at 12:30am posting comments then perhaps i wouldn't need them. :P

The browm beret girl is *not* a capitalist, shopaholic! ;)

My grandparents used to make my take siestas on Sundays when I was a little girl. I still like to take naps.

Sylia,

If a man is good in bed, he should make you want to nap afterwards.

Sylvia dijo:

GRVTR

Now that's the kind of napping message I advocate.

Kai dijo:

Luisa, Sylvia, "nap" afterwards?! How about 10 hours of sleep and recovery?! I mean, please, let's assume some exhaustion here...unless we're talking about one for the road. Anyway...

Yeah I'm a major napper. In much of China people sleep for a half-hour to an hour or so after lunch, and I've never shaken that habit. Anyone who's worked in the business world knows that 2pm meetings always involve people nodding off, so I schedule all my meetings for mornings and early evenings. Afternoons are groggy, and I don't fight it. I remember when I was like 7 or 8, my father brought me to his workplace, and in a cabinet in his office he showed me a secret of his success: a foam roll and pillow, and a bottle of booze. The bedding was for afternoon napping, the booze was for entertaining visitors.

Anyway, I remain an adherent to the cult of napping. I don't usually get long hours of regular sleep, but a quick deep plunge into oblivion here and there does a body good...

"The Cult of Napping."! jeje

funniest thing i heard all day. of course i just woke up.

10 hours seems like it'd follow a marathon session, but a relaxing encounter would require a short recuperation nap...perhaps before plunging into the exhaustive affairs. Call it the warm-up session, if you like.

My friends laughed at me constantly in college because of my napping ability. I loved my twin bed (something most college folks don't love), and I loved my jersey cotten sheets. So my bad habit after classes, after frustration, or just out of boredom would be using the internet for a while, stripping, and lying in my bed. Sometimes I'd nap; sometimes I wouldn't, but the time to center my thoughts, to get some rest, and to tend to my emotions provided more help than harm.

And I founded a group dedicated to the power of napping on my school's facebook, lol. If we earned credits for them, I'd be a scholar by now.

nezua limón xolagrafik-jonez dijo:

Yo se!!!! Kai sounds like me at 20. Wow. :)

Sylvia dijo:

GRVTR

lol, now I feel like a kid. Which I guess legitimizes my napping habits. :-p

kick it, ése.
