Bill Richardson Has Buds. And Balls.

Categorized under | Tags:

img Democratic Gov. Bill Richardson, who is expected to run for President in 2008, is soon to sign a bill that would make New Mexico the 12th state to legalize medical marijuana. He speaks of his own awareness of the political risk of such a move:

So what if it's risky? It's the right thing to do,' said Richardson, one of the candidates in the crowded 2008 field. "What we're talking about is 160 people in deep pain. It only affects them."

The legislation would create a program under which some patients - with a doctor's recommendation - could use marijuana provided by the state health department. Lawmakers approved the bill Wednesday. The governor is expected to sign it in the next few weeks.

Considering that the Little Herb Stalk promotes brain cell growth (neurogenesis), inhibits cancer cell growth, decreases the occurrence of "neuronal cell death" associated with Alzheimers as well as tumor growth, It's clear that this plant is pretty special, some would say even magical. At the least, it's quite clear that the tired lines the government uses to shoo us away from the plant are outright lies...

The federal government declares marijuana an illegal controlled substance with no medical value.

A federal appeals court in San Francisco ruled on Wednesday that a woman whose doctor says marijuana is the only medicine keeping her alive can face federal prosecution on drug charges.

imgSo maybe it's time to ask the question What kind of magic does this plant have that scares even warmongers so easily? What power does this herb have that terrifies men who think nothing of foisting all manner of synthetic chemical concoctions on every man, woman, and child in America?

Or we could not waste our time posing questions that won't be answered except by tongues that know no truth.

Richardson has cojones and compassion, both. This may not be fashionable in today's politics, but it puts him into Nezua's good graces.

The war on Mary Jane(tm) is part of a larger conflict on the brown. The drug was targeted in the 20's and 30's (the heyday of "Reefer Madness") in part because of its association with Mexican immigrants (we want you sweat, blood and tears, but no yer weed hombre!). Then it became trendy among beat poets and hippies in the 60's and is seen as a symbol of "counter culture", that is a symbol against the establishment, the "Church" and the "authorities".

Thats why the right-wingers get their panties twisted when they hear about this. Oxycotin is fine, but weed....no way!

Many fear Soma, others know how to use it to heal and reveal visions. Mainly, the business leaders of Gringolandia seek to ban a cash crop they cannot control. Too many Brown folks treating themselves without Eurocentric medicine by respecting nature and her gifts.

Between the old hippies, the die-hard libertarians, the laid-back cowboys (it took me a while to figure out why our cowboys are so mellow... but I think I figured it out), the WHITEPROGRESSIVES and the "Marijuanitas" (we desert rats have our own version of the Avon Lady), you might find a movement to seceed from Texas and attach ourselves to somewhere a little more congenial to our way of life.

kick it, ése.
