IN MY DREAM version of the United States, a politician would offer to testify—but only if he didn't have to be under oath, were in private, and with no transcript—and the politician would be immediately and harshly laughed out of office, any office. In my dream version of this country, we don't cater to liars whose lies have killed over half a million human beings. We sneer at them, and shush them until swallow their very last bite of impeachment pie.
Ah, dreams.
