No Entiendes la Onda
Categorized under Viernes Noche Música | Tags: Mota, YouTube
FRIDAY, vat@s, and for our weekly YouTube tradition, we goan stick with la mota modo* as established in the last post, and so we pop in some Cypress Hill for yaz. This is a Spanish lang version of the song How I Could Just Kill A Man, y me gusta esta vid a bit more than I do the Inglés version, although this video of Cypress doing the English version at the (25th?) Woodstock Reunion is muy chido. Especially at the end, the "Peace to the Puerto Ricans back there! Peace to the Mexicans back there!" It's not often we hear stuff like that in American mainstream media, eh? Voices calling out peace and positivity for the Brown™. Even if it is at the end of a tune that could be classified as Gangsta Rap.
Have a good time tonight and don't hurt yaself diggin' at the lid, foolio!
Generalization Warning: Not all Mexicanos, Chicanos, or Brown people are thugs, gangbangers, dopesmokers, or partake of violence and crime. Same as the fact that the mostly-white audiences that most of today's Black Hip-Hop artists draw are not necessarily partaking of the activities their much-loved and practiced lyrics describe. Coo'?

I knew a Shaman woman who said that the white west allowed the distilled (i.e. industrially processed) destructive drugs that would not expand consciousness, but outlawed the natural drugs that could expand one’s mind. Mostly because workers had to be kept controllable and reliable, blow off steam at the weekend but then back to the machine on Monday with no lingering effects/thoughts of an alternative. There definitely is some ideological prejudice against weed that is unrelated to any medical evidence.
