We Are the People Whose Come Here to Play

FRIDAY...
Pues, normally on fridays, you will find me turning you on to some of my favorite spanish language musix. But I happened across an outfit called The Knife (sombrero tip toward Intersections) and I guess I'll blame it on spring, too, because I must have played this bad boy about six times in a row when I first heard it.
From what I know, it's a Swedish brother-and-sister group who will only be seen in masks. perhaps these female singers are just guests for the one song. Either way, they can't dance very well (watch the poor blanquita on the left who actually begins lurching) but the group not only sounds like it has some interesting live show agenda as well as concept behind their music, but can lay down some downright infectious bad grammar grooves. Highly recommended track. And keep your eye on Olof Dreijer, the only one out of this group who can actually shake bones. Whenever he comes into the scene dancing, he steals it. File under "Swedish Electro-Funktastic 80s-type Aerobic-beatz." And wile out.
(The song title is actually You Take My Breath Away)
This version ("The Lipstick War" video) pleases me. It actually reflects the song well...It's fun, and at the same time creepy, what with all the lips/orifices, and the everpresent lipstick painting all these fluctuating rims.

God it's catchy.
And methinks the one on the left bought the MC Rove's Dance Party CD and should get her money back immediately! ;)

puzzled by two things tho:
1. why show a close up of a pair of shorts with no ass in them?
2. why the lucha libre masks???
and i wish they would have let me shoot the vid. i could have made it ten times better than this, even with hardly a budget. did they got back in time to 1982 to shoot this?

Yeah, I think they were going for really cheesy 80s glitz, and they achieved it; the song had a little charm to me 'cause of it. The brother's makeup is kickassed.
You're right about the gratuitous [absence of] ass shot, though. I guess we were supposed to gather they were shaking their groove thangs so much some of it fell out, eh?
Hehe, now I'm going to watch this vid and think "LUCHARAN"
