You Are Not Alone. Unfortunately.

A QUICK NOTE and a peep behind the curtain. If you are one of the many people waiting on an email or phone call from me telling you what I think of a proposed idea, request for critique on your art/writing, group blog, project offer, or any other opportunity or correspondence:

For some reason, this Spring coincides with a very...interesting time in my life. My home life is very stressed due to various reasons, and at the same exact time, I am being bombarded by many offers and people reaching out from every place I could imagine, most of them very convinced that it is absolutely fateful that they found me at this time, or think of me in this way, or that opportunity X has arisen. This is not to brag, nor to cast a grain of dispersion on claims of fate. It is only to gently remind you that you are not the only person waiting on me, and to confess that I am overwhelmed. Because...I haven't said "no" enough, maybe, and mostly because I don't have a frame of reference for such an influx of this type of demand for my time.

I want to tend all these offers and requests. I will do what I can, I am doing what I can. What I can manage, I will. And as fast as my style allows me. But please remember that you are not the only person contacting me. And please don't get angry, or thinking I am purposely dissing you and begin to retaliate in any small, unintended leaky ways. I will get around to it. I'm being drowned by what poses as good fortune at the moment.

 The Unapologetic Mexican has been known to scribble a few things besides meandering, verbose, self-congratulatory blog posts. However, they are rarely as fun. Finally, let it be known that Nezua first dared bust out this Habanero of Truth at exactly 10:24 AM.  | Top | View blog reactions

You're a good guy, Nez. I can see why people seek you out, but I won't bug ya... at least not for the time being.

But seriously, if those offers are what I think it is, then speaking of getting back to somebody, I think I owe somebody an email. ;)

I am also absolutely ecstatic that you have a surfeit of good fortune. You deserve it... take on what calls to you, but feel no obligation to answer every call. You've gotta space yourself out ;)
