AS WITH EVERYTHING, there are a few ways we can look at Mister Moulitsas' brief press release shrugging off (for the second time) the Kathy Sierra incident. This is how I see it:
What we talk about with each other out here; what we hope for one day; why some raise money, and some raise hell; what we work for—those are our dreams. And they are good dreams. They point the way to where we want to go, how we want things to be.
But meanwhile, you are not your dreams. You are what and how you do. Online or offline. Right here. In realtime.
The end.

Y'know, reading through the comments of the post he linked to, it's interesting to see the people saying, "No one rational would say you should ignore death threats" and people saying, "It's irrational to NOT ignore death threats because we have no PROOF someone who says 'Here's your address. I'm going to kill you.' will actually do so."
The "chilling effect on speech" canard was remarkable, too. Oh no! If you report threats to the FBI, people might think that they shouldn't make threats! That's like reporting someone who stole from you to the police!!! Chilling effect on object aquisition!!! OMG!!! The humanity!!!
The extent to which people will go to downplay and negate another person's choices is TRULY astonishing.

I think Lindsay's post really nailed it, and linking to it was a good move. I thought it was fine save for lacking an actual apology.
