The Perfect Ratio

• Just because you have a name with which to denigrate or even properly "describe" a thing does not necessarily mean you properly understand it.

• Just because you believe in a mythical land doesn't mean it will be there for you when you die. Live as if your balance is tallied and Punishment and Reward given in realtime. Because it is. And they are. The ratio and subsequent manifestation of these two agents is called "peace of mind."

• There are more truths that you will fail to see in this lifetime than there are things you will be correct about disbelieving.

• Even once you sober up, your online comments will remain drunk.

• Just because many people conspire to know the truth about something doesn't mean it is a "conspiracy theory."

• Just because you decide to craft the label "conspiracy theory" doesn't mean it does not also describe a truth.

• Just because someone is a "Republican" doesn't mean they have no heart. Or are any less of a person.

• Just because you are a "Democrat" doesn't mean you're not an asshole, as well.

• There is always someone to whom you will be an "asshole."

• Abstain from trying to please that person.

• It is the height of narcissism to believe that because I cannot do something, it cannot be done.

• Anger does not equal cleverness. But it often disguises itself as such.

• If you took away all the guns in the world, certain people would aspire to become bullets themselves. And they would succeed. Hate needs no bullets. But nor do we need so many guns.

• Sometimes invisible bullets are fired into a person for a very long time before they stand up and kill someone else with the kind you buy in a store. Sometimes the person who fired the first volley will never have met the second.

• You may be flame warring with your neighbor.

• You may be flame warring with your future neighbor.

• Even if not, or if so, you are probably flame warring with yourself.

• Finding something to dislike about someone does not mean you are better than them.

• Nor that you are dissimilar.

• Love begets love. If not, you are begetting for love in all the wrong places.

• When you find a thing or person that draws your energy away without replacing it or replenishing yours in any way, shape, or form, walk away. And don't look back. There are so many springs and founts of goodness in this world. Don't be hypnotized by a mudhole.

• There is only one way to change the entire world in your own lifetime. Take the focus away from judging other people poorly, and work on your damn self. As you change, so will the world.

Yowsuh! Not hating people who hate us is the hard part. My minister, at the Unity church that I went to for a number of years, often made the point that we can't hate others and not feel it in our own hearts, because we are all a part of the fabric of life. She says this more frequently now than she did before 9/11 and all of the monstrous violence that it fomented. There is no course of action that can eliminate enemies except to love them. I have no idea about how to apply that to the current situation--I just try to do what I can, where I am.
