The Useless Figurehead Blamer Sellout, Pt 2.

Categorized under Dear Alberto , Política Estados Unidos | Tags: , ,

WHAT A PATHETIC, SNIVELING, EQUIVOCATING, SMIRKING, DUPLICITOUS, DISHONORABLE fool. I suggest you just head on over to the muckraking joint and watch the whole series in a row, if you want a feel for how the questioning went. What a disgrace. What a whiny, lying disgrace. Though at least I got to watch Gonzo get a little hot under the collar, lose some control. Which is satisfying.

Not satisfying is having to sit still and listen (over and over and over, as he must have drilled them for a month) to all those careful phrases, like: "Well, Senator, after reviewing the records, I came to the belief that" so meticulously arranged to avoid his committing himself to saying what the records did or did not state. Lots of smooth liar shit like that. Like the Republican God, Reagan. Keep it in the realm of perception, and nobody can prove you wrong. "I can't recall!" Crazyman talk. "I don't believe there's any evidence that I remember having knowledge of saying that at the time I was quoted repeating such a thing, if in fact I did repeat such a thing."

Okay, I made up that last one. But if you watch the clips, you won't really feel I'm exaggerating at all!

It's also fun to watch Bush light fire to his own shack by sticking with this cat. (And did you dig this little drug-addled blabfest?) Bush loves to stick with his henchmen.

Anyway. This is the clip that really burns me:

It's Orwell and Malkin and Gonzo all in one. ("Morwalkellionzales?") Dig: The suit-wrapped pack of lies gives us the "I grew up poor in a minority neighborhood" as a lead-in to his attempt to convince us that he takes "stealing votes" very seriously. Pulling this card while he orchestrates, or aids the implementation of operations, that seek to disenfranchise the very minorities he pretends to affiliate himself with! If there's evil, this is it.

Hey, vendido: you don't get to affiliate with the Brown™ no more. I'm sorry. By many peoples' counts, that day came a long, long time ago. Back when you were running the Torture Campaign. Loathesome and unforgivable. Especially as it is a inhumane practice introduced to our own (Mexicano) ancestors by the Spanish, sure. You really ought to have a different take on it, rather than your perverse and quaint preference for the practice.

But me, I curled my lip the final time for you when you gave us that bullshit about it being "unclear" as to the status of your Grandparents' American citizenship. Who you kiddin'? Where's the Brown Pride, foolio? Where's the love? For tu padres, for tu abuelos y tu antepasados...nada. "It's unclear." Riiiiight. Sure it's unclear. Just like tu consciencia. no es tranquila, eh? Or can you even feel it anymore?

And so, for me, my life has — represents the American dream.

What is that, ese? What is that dream? To cross the precious "border," to lie about your origins, to torture other Browns, to whitewash tu alma por el presidente, to sell out tu familia por más poder? Yeh...you livin' it. You livin' that Murkan Dream, 'mano. Suuuure nuff.

Don't use the poor and struggling of this land to boost up your bloody, stinking hand. You despicable, vile, Murkan man.

Vendido - the perfect term for him. I missed the testimony today, and after watching the YouTube you linked, I'm glad. Ugh

That was a very satisfying read indeed. It reminds me of a letter I wrote once to the President, which I later incorporated into an image, Some Called It Treason and slapped onto the wall of the gallery at one of my exhibitions in 2004 for annoying, closet Republican art snobs to squirm at, inwardly.

I'll paste it here for your amusement.

Dear George,

Re: Operation TIPS

In your fear-filled, spin reality I am dangerous. I mock the America you speak of wistfully as tears well in your bloodshot eyes. In your Jimmy Beam-induced, unfortunately non-fatal, pretzel-choking “with us or against us” paradigm, I am so against you, that if I saw you clinging for dear life on a precipice I would offer you the sharp end of a razor blade and some Vaseline.

I view you as nothing more than a crude, pathetic, lying thief who is propped up by his Daddy’s oil interests. Your clichéd, act-tough, go-get-'em Texan veneer does little to dispel the fact that you couldn’t even fairly win an election against the plodding personification of Ambien.

This traitor has zero respect for you or the pharmacologically- pumped thing that dangles on your arm from time to time, that you call a wife. I feel nothing but pity for your alcoholic daughters and your prescription-drug-addicted nieces and adulterous, whore-addicted brothers. I see your kowtowing to the bible-thumping double-crossing Karl Rove crowd as just another sign of your fraudulent, white-collar, preppy, Yankee Doodle Dimwit, yahoo, yeeha, nouveau-riche, elitist upbringing. Your parents’ shitloads of oil and blood soaked cash could only buy you a C-grade education from Yale, while you cocaine snorted yourself all the way to the pinnacle of mediocrity.

In short, you’re just a fucking asshole.

Yes - Gonzo is bad, and his rhetoric is worse, but that Bush clip (the drugged- seeming one) is differently painful. Clinton Fein's list more or less explains the malaise: Bush on who knows how many substances, and then 'alcoholic daughters, a pharmacologically created wife, prescription drug addicted nieces, adulterous, whore-addicted brothers, and then all of these Bible thumpers assisting them.

I was going to say, the post, clips and Fein's comment really do encapsulate the horrors of the current government. But, having typed this far, I have come to a more startling realization. I live in oil country, and I know a few of these oil families, and many of them are like that. A patriarch (Bush Sr.) who made the money, is smart, etc., and still somewhat lucid, although also ruthless and so on.

This figure is usually the most presentable one in the family, superficially at least. Then he has a wife with discreet drug or alcohol problems, and all the other relatives already listed, give or take a few criminal sons or nephews, and
then you add in the Bible-thumping aides. It is a whole genre of family.

At one point, in fact, I fantasized about writing a pulp novel about this type of family, and oilfield dealings in general, which, I am told by those who have observed them directly, are greased with pimped out girls and brown paper bags of cash. (No wonder the owners feel they need Jesus.) Now I am wondering whether I should write a more analytical, journalistic book, in the Christian Parenti style.

(Hm. Don't let me fantasize too much - I have to write academic stuff for my job - but getting this sort of book idea is more exciting ... anyway I can't do it now, so I'm putting the idea out there in case anyone else wants to take it. There is mucho material, I promise!)

damn Cero. i think you really oughtta write that book. that sounds fascinating, especially with the knowledge and interest you bring.

What an amazing post you have here, UM!

I listened to the hearings live via Pacifica Radio yesterday, and I was just as disgusted as you express here. I was especially disappointed with the questioning in that I didn't hear anyone call AG out on the fact that he was using his forked tongue to slither out of nearly every question.

kick it, ése.
