THANK YOU to all who wrote or commented. I do appreciate the lift, and encouragement. I wasn't really expecting it, nor meaning to imply I would "give up." Sometimes you just need to stop and smell the moss. You did, actually, make me want to post sooner. Don't know if I did because of that, or just because I'm a big mouth who can't keep quiet for too long. Either way, it was very inspiring to read some of your words. You made my day! I will answer all comments and emails as soon as I can. And yeah, the walk around the block was helpful. Especially the ninth lap.

Write what is in your heart, that will never fail you. You have a gift, don't let hateful comments get to you. My sister and I have a very small blog and we write everyday. I don't have as much time to blog, althought I try to keep up with reenee, she's quite prolific.
We get very few comments, but that doesn't bother us or deter us from saying what we need to say. Once in a while we get a hateful and nasty comment, and my sis, in trying to be fair and balanced, sometimes discusses with me the posting of a negative comment. We occassionally do, but by the second comment we do not post the third or fourth response. Our blog is not a forum for hatre and put-downs, especially of who we are.
All our lives people have told us who we are, I'm soooo tired of that and further I will never buy into someone else's take on what I should think, say or write.
My feeling today? Que viva la raza forever.

Man, I swear I was going to write something like this before reading your most recent post. I will, of course, keep reading for as long as you keep writing, but I didn't say anything encouraging or exhorting you not to take a break because I figured it might be right for you. I see too many bloggers I like and respect apologizing for not posting enough. I also think it's probably good and healthy to be too frustrated to blog every once in a while. It probably helps keep you, meaning "one," meaning any blogger, seeing blogging in terms of actual politics, rather than vice versa (which stories drive up traffic, get links, etc.). So, glad your back, but I also say, for whatever it's worth, trust your instincts when you don't feel like blogging.
