I have been busy at the San Fernando Valley Economic Development Center taking business classes, working with financial consultants and filling out endless forms. A $5,000 matching loan a been found for CAM. The 2nd loan gets funded around June 1st and it looks like I will have the money to "re-launch" with Issue #3 in June.

A print re-design and web site update is under way and should be online next month. It's been a difficult climb out of this hole from the financial disaster that was "CAM Winter 2007, issue 3" back in January.

That's from an email sent round. So, while I can't apologize for the mag (I'm just a writer, sure sure even though the main feature for this issue, rah, rah), I am passing along this info. And I feel a bit responsible for at least that much, if you haven't received the info otherwise. I did pimp the mag out. All I can say is that she had artist trouble. Or co-worker troubles. You know how it goes in the creative world. I very much endorse her eye, and what has been the quality of the mag so far. Sheeeooot, she swooped down on Nez's junk, que no?

It's been rough! The mag almost died. Me and Laura talked that night, pouring drinks and lamenting old rock-n-roll might have beens. It got a little misty. But it looks like a loan came through. Those who ordered, don't give up! YOU ARE PART OF HISTORY, DAMMIT! And thank you.

(And anyone wanting to buy a piece of advertising space in the mag, dig "Centavo in the Well" to grok my full pimpification of the Chican@ Art scene's hottest new zine. You'd be helping the mag, también, getting your name out there in some real hip territory. Let me tell you, this lady has ambition and talent to spare.)
