You Can Do It, Mamá

I'VE HEARD IT SAID THAT the Democratic party is the "Mommy party" and the Republican party is the "~~drunken psychotic~~ Daddy party."

So okay. Offered for your consideration:

If "Daddy" has turned out to be an unreliable and arrogant idiot who talks a lot of shit about Living the Right Way, but is known to murder due to his unflagging fear-based paranoia or plain greed, a cheater who has lied about everything to everyone, and even when approached reasonably threatens more (unnecessary) violence and yet won't listen to reason from anyone in the neighborhood...how are we supposed to feel about "Mommy" if she simply scolds him, but tells us that divorce is off the table because "it's not worth it"?

I'll tell you how I feel. If "Mommy" ever again wants my respect...not to mention my vote of confidence—she better throw "divorce" right up there on the table. Where it belongs. And right quick.

The "Mommies" have lots of work to do - to try to run an election without challenging the deep dis-ease that has taken root is a prescription for failure ultimately.
