DOING A LOT of packing, chilling with Lil 'Nita, moving. Not really much reading of blogs or news, just no time. Hope all is well, and you people are getting a good amount of wind and sun. See you in a few.

Exhale, 'mano. Unpack. Unwind. Get settled. Love each other. Exhale. We'll be here.

But, whatever you do, don't inhale!

Yeah, get some rest.

Wish it was sunny here, it's done little else than rain all week. Strange weather.

Well here is a little poem/song by Juan Manuel Serrat (inspired a poem from Antonio Machado).

Todo pasa y todo queda pero lo nuestro es pasar, pasar haciendo caminos, caminos sobre la mar.

Nunca persegui la gloria
ni dejar en la memoria
de los hombres mi cancion;
yo amo los mundos sutiles,
ingravidos y gentiles
como pompas de jabon.

Me gusta verlos pintarse
se sol y grana, volar
bajo el cielo azul, temblar
subitamente y quebrarse...

Nunca persegui la gloria.

Caminante son tus huellas
el camino y nada mas;

golpe a golpe, verso a verso...

Murio el poeta lejos del hogar.
Le cubre el polvo de un pais vecino.
Al alejarse, le vieron llorar.
"Caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar"

golpe a golpe, verso a verso...

Cuando el jilguero no puede cantar
Cuando el poeta es un peregrino,
Cuando de nada nos sirve rezar.
"Caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar..."

golpe a golpe, verso a verso

Heads up, when you have the time, the new immigration bill purportedly has an amendment that would require police to report the immigration status of anyone who calls emergency services, thereby nullifying the VAWA provision that prohibits it. This will make immigrant women--both the "legal" and "illegal" kind--who are victims of domestic violence completely helpless. They can't call the police or they'll be deported (since hubby will, of course, have the passport of his victim...er...wife even if she is here legally).

Good luck with the moving. Always a time-consuming process. Will catch you on the flipside, no doubt.

Buen provecho, Nez.

When you get a little bit unpacked, remember that now that you have been awarded the Thinking Blogger's award, you have to pass it on to others. It's like turista that way.
