Executive Dribblage

Categorized under Closing in on Bush | Tags:

imgIRONICALLY, Bush and Cheney are not strengthening The Executive Branch, nor extending its reach and power for future presidents and vice-presidents, as they plan. Por ejemplo, they are weakening the Presidential assertion of "Executive Privilege" when it is invoked for everything from protecting convicted stoolies to shutting up the press corps when it asks about any topic that feels the slightest bit uncomfy, to hindering, covering up, and lying about the investigation into a publically visible and well-liked soldier's suspicious murder.

By the time the Pretendsident is impeached and convicted, the words "executive privilege" will have about as much meaning as the word "tyrannichimple."

Less, actually.

You said "Pretendsident"---cooool.

Shrubya and the DorkLordCheney are, quite obviously, symbiotes. Neither of them could function without the other. In the unlikely event that we can ever get an honest man--never mind two--in the White House his first executive order should be to round up all the people that have thumbed their noses at the congress and the judiciary during the last two election cycles and jail them for contempt of the American people.

Hey, I just had a great idea, Nez. Howzabout, "Government"--a fantasy league for legislators. I don't have "mad" skills when it comes to computer machines and internets tubes, but I bet you know lots of people that do. It's all yours man, just buy me a nice house when you make the zillions of Cha-ching!
