Kramer's Obscure Vacation O' Healing

Categorized under Medios | Tags: , ,

YOU GOTTA GIVE THE MAN CREDIT for originality. Remember Michael Richards fork routine? Well, looks like he came up with something a bit more original than the typical 30 day rehab stint image makeover.

Actor Michael Richards, whose career nosedived after he shouted racial slurs at hecklers in a West Hollywood comedy club, has been seeking some spiritual healing here with his fiancée.

Richards, best known for his portrayal of the eccentric Cosmo Kramer on the popular television series 'Seinfeld,' said he has quit stand-up comedy.

"That night, when I was insulted and disrupted, I lost my heart; I lost my sense of humor. I've retired from that. I'm taking time off to feel myself out, get to know myself and appreciate other people," Richards said in an interview here.

Truth be told, even if it's another shtick, I like this one much better.

Well I have to give him at least some bit of credit for him realising his mistakes. Thought we can all be wary of his honesty and legitimacy, it would be wrong of me to not support him in wanting to make that effort. Only time will tell whether he's sincere or not.

Oh Lord! Kramer's got a Swami now?! His ass better not come back with a Cambodian baby. I can see it coming: "See America, I'm not a racist. I've got this lovely Asian baby now." God(s) help him.

Everyone is worthy of redemption . . .

Give the guy a chance . . .

Good for him . . .

I want to trust him; I think he's making a good step and I hope he does find peace with himself.

It's too easy to blacklist him as a racist forever. I just wish him peace and I hope he does accomplish what he wishes.

Shortly after Richard's melt down in that club Jon Stewart introduced Larry Wilmore as the Daily Show's new Senior Black Correspondent. If you haven't seen his take on the incident, find it. It's probably on YouTube.

Well, nobody ever needed an exhale more than post-meltdown Richard. In fact, up the road a bit, his picture might just appear in the dictionary next to the term "meltdown." Most of us get to have our epiphanies quietly inside our own minds or at least more or less alone. Richard got to have his on YouTube. I suspect that whatever karmic debt he had accrued has been covered now.

kick it, ése.
