Hand of Bush Continues Killing the Brown

Categorized under Gobierno , Planeta , Violencia | Tags: ,

img NEW ORLEANS—A crime wave is intensifying in this city already beset by a flagging recovery from Hurricane Katrina, and Hispanic immigrants helping to rebuild are common targets, according to police and to statistics released Thursday.

Despite an infusion of money and manpower into the justice system, the number of homicides is climbing, and armed robbers are preying on Hispanic day laborers flush with cash from rebuilding jobs, the Police Department says.

The city, which led the nation in murders per capita in 2006, is on track to do the same this year, according to data presented Thursday for April through June.

LET'S NOT FORGET who we have to thank for so much of this still-spoiling mess on our national plate. The Decider, who makes such great decisions in times of crisis and national need.

New Orleans is still such a gaping wound. They need to allow these workers to get bank accounts so they don't have to navigate those dreadful check cashing leeches.

yet certain people are already building condos or investing in them in certain parts nearby? where did i read that? call me cynical, call me bushderanged, call me radical, but there is no accident in letting so many black and brown and poor people suffer for so long. it's a massive crime as far as i'm concerned. it is neglect and disinterest and fucked up priorities to the degree of smelling genocidal. or at least targeting a population and class, if not looking to wipe them out entirely. we need a word for genocide by installment plan.

it is a gaping wound. its a horrific, festering, ugly wound that puts the lie to so much of the shit we spout and are fed about what a great nation this is. oye, i am WILLING to believe this is a great nation. i WANT to! but words aren't enough. i need to see us care about things other than dollars and oil and fear and lies and guns.

AGH it really upsets me. its just a pit of exploitation that is being encouraged by those who have the power to make changes.

Will Lou talk about crimes committed against immigrants and POCs. Not holding my breath there. In fact when was the last time he or TC or any of those blowhards went back to NOLA, except to rag on the Mayor (who certainly needs it, but we still have people dying in there!)

I guess we can see where their priorities are at.
Nice photoshopping, I can really imagine him doing something so awful (like the corp guy Burke in 'Aliens')- let's have a sing song to cheer everyone up, then I'm flying back to my mansion- then probably a frat boy joke about all the houses being waterfront property now.
On reflection he actually did worse than that, he just ignored it until his staff made a DVD of news coverage, I'm sure they had to trick him though, tell him it was the new season of '24' or slip into a 'Barney' case.

not my fotoshop job...i should have printed that visibly, but i hate mucking up the look of anything more than necessary, if you float your mouse over the pic it should give credit, if you click it, it will go to the original site.
