AND DESTROYS over ten thousand homes.
Rescuers have been working through the night trying to find survivors of the devastating earthquake that hit Peru's central coast. They were given hope when a man was pulled alive from the rubble of a collapsed church in the town of Pisco, more than 24 hours after the tremor.

The death toll from Wednesday's 8.0-magnitude quake has risen above 500, according to Peru's fire service. [...]Tens of thousands of people have lost their homes, while power supplies, telecommunications and road links have been severely disrupted.
Hospitals and morgues have been overwhelmed, and the bodies of many victims that have been recovered from the rubble are lying on the streets.

It seems it won't be very long before our most titillating disaster movies are no longer that titillating, nor much of an escape from anything.
Big love and good energy to all those in Peru now dealing with this disaster.

Truth. After living through a disaster {the months following the disaster are worse than the actual event} a movie about any disaster is the last thing you want to see, speaking as a witness.
