Univ of Tejas to Join Hands Across el Rio

FOLLOWING UP on Hands Across El Rio:

BROWNSVILLE, August 21- The University of Texas at Brownsville/Texas Southmost College is going to play a major role in Hands Across el Rio, the grassroots protest against the federal government's plan to build a border wall.

Hands Across el Rio officially launches Aug. 25 in El Paso, and then makes its way across the length of the Rio Grande River, ending on Boca Chica beach on Sept. 9. The hand-holding event will be held on the pedestrian walkways at each community's international bridge.

NOTE: The City of El Paso has made the following change:

Saturday 25th, 9:00am, Press Conference location change: Will be held at 400 Charles Rd. in Chihuahuita Park at the base of the downtown bridge, Paso del Norte...where Hands Across el Rio will be held at 10am. The Press Conference will NOT be held at Monument #1.
