BREAKING: Black People are Capable of Mannered Meals!

Categorized under | Tags:

OUR FAVORITE MENTALLY-CHALLENGED bigot has a major revelation:

'Discussing his recent dinner with Rev. Al Sharpton at the Harlem restaurant Sylvia’s, Bill O’Reilly reported that he “couldn’t get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia’s restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City. I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it’s run by blacks, primarily black patronship.” O’Reilly added: “There wasn’t one person in Sylvia’s who was screaming, ‘M-Fer, I want more iced tea.'"

O'Reilly surprised "there was no difference" between Harlem restaurant and other New York restaurants

I really, really want to make a joke. Yet, I just can't top the Living Laughline, himself.

O'Reilly's comments and his follow-up protestations completely encapsulate the notion of "the soft bigotry of low expectations." And they're completely self-explanatory. He's so cluelessly racist that he doesn't even understand WHY his comments were racist.

exactly tomas. you and I have been on the same wavelenghth lately.

Reading the transcript I halfway expected to see a line, like "and some of my friends even ARE black."

Watching an AP clip, O'Reilly's argument for his behavior was something to the effect of writing off the ice tea comment as , well, being 6.5 minutes apart from his other comment on Sylvia's, so somehow not represented fairly. Huhhh?

..My favorite thing of all this is O'Reilly now saying Media Matters took an hourlong program and cherry picked his comments out of context.
Amazing! Did Bill O'Reilly really speak those words? Can I get a witness here?

In all honestly, I hate to give O'Reilly any attention in the first place. But he's such a freakin' household name he should be accountable.

By the way, out of curiousity does anyone know if Juan Williams has chimed in on any of this?

Oh he did and as always he sided with O'Reilly, no surprise there. And BillO has kept going this week, just making a mess of it.

kick it, ése.
