Here Comes the Story of the Hurricane. Again.

OF COURSE I'M NOT OFFERING a perfect parallel. But I am saying...how far have we really come?
It's so sad that there's even still a need for the great uprising that is coming from the black community right now—online and off. But to take another view, it sure is beautiful that so many are willing to stand up and speak truth to power, to put their bodies in motion for what is Right. As furious as I am that racism like this still dares to show its ugly face in public courtrooms and streets; as ready to fight as this makes me, I have to say it also gives me great hope that such strong movement is coming from people in this country.
And again—I hope we can see the connections between the various types of hate that live on in these "United" States, and stand strong together against it. The time is now.
unfortunately, the song cuts off before the end. for those who care, Hurricane is from the Desire album.

kick it, ése.
