The Conspiracy Against The People
Categorized under | Tags: Bill Richardson, Democrats, Hillary Clinton, Kucinich, Republicans
THE DUSK IS UPON US and moving too quickly for the status quo to do a damn thing, so while I have not endorsed anyone (for what that is worth), I have NO time for politicians who see international policy the same as Bush does or the GOP does; I have NO time for any president unless they plan to roll back CheneyBush's invasive anti-constitutional P.A.T.R.I.O.T act measures and restore Habeas Corpus, I have NO time for a politician unless they loudly and unequivocally say the Iraq Occupation MUST end and they will do it, and I will not vote for anyone, nor encourage a vote for any candidate unless they reject the idea of preemptive war on Iran, reject the disastrous Bush Doctrine. This time I want true change and I will not vote compromise.
Hillary Clinton is never getting my vote. Sorry. As she gets closer and closer, she talks more and more war. Nope. You are out. I don't care if the system demands this of you or not. We need someone big and brave enough to create their own new way, to reject the system, because the status quo and the system and all its pressures now lead us toward ultimate destruction. We need someone with greater vision, who can see above the fear, around the Right's framing, beyond the accepted horizon. And if you get the nomination, I will not vote Democratic party.
I am keeping my eye on you Gov. Richardson. I like what you are saying. (And I like Kucinich, too.) Though I wonder if you are too honest and anti-war for many in our sickened nation to embrace right now. Sometimes I think we all feel we deserve the worst of what we are getting. We have chosen this, after all, in so many ways. An election is only one of our choices. We choke on the varnish, but we want the high-gloss. Even when it suffocates us.
'War is not a solution. And fear is not a plan. What kind of America do we want for our children -- an America that is afraid of the world, or an America that is proud to lead it?'"
Democrats? Congress? You have let us down. And you are almost out of time. I'll speak the obvious one more time: You won the House and Senate because the people wanted—and want—change. We don't want war. We want peace. But right now, we also want justice, which means impeachment. Pelosi, you have no right to put it 'off the table.' Who the hell are you to ignore the People? You are not doing your job. Conyers promised it to us to get elected, and he has turned his back on us, TOO.
You all show passion to condemn the Betray US ad, meaning you are the same old same old Western mind tail-chasing, whack-a-mole, symptom-squashing and primitive mindset. Meaning you cannot dig us out of the hole you have helped put us in. I'll break it down real quick: The Betray Us ad was not the THING. The ad is a symptom of the people's horror and rejection of this war. Don't you get it? Moveon.org is a voice for the people.
THE PEOPLE FEEL BETRAYED.
And you are complicit, all of you. With your peer-pressure-dimpled voting fingers. You do not represent change. You represent that which is killing us and confusing us, and leading us into more violence and thinking you can kill violence with more violence. And why do you go along with the bullies on the Right? Because you are weak. Because you are greedy. Because you want the same slice of stinky pie. Fine. I hope you lick your fingers well. I hope you enjoy that rancid smell. You are hoisting us all into the mouth of hell.

Save a little juice for later, Nez. I like what you are saying here, but this horse race has another 13 months to go and by then there will be an even more grossly alarming state of affairs domestically, overseas, in Iraq, in Iran and between the remaining bizarro presidential candidates.
Pace yourself. The crescendo is a long way off and you have to work up to that.
Meanwhile, I welcome your commentary however you choose to serve it up. It's plenty picante right now.

I mean the juice is infinite parenthetically until the last breath, but it's going to get crazier and crazier by November 2008. But keep it coming. I desperately miss the scorching writing of Steve Gilliard. You are moving into that space now. Burn, baby, burn. I am always amazed at how little the US public displays any sense of outrage about the Bush Cheney regime. I don't live there so it is very hard for me to understand the docility. I feel much better checking out your daily list of accusations.
Somebody in the US is not shy.

The disgust goes in waves, doesn't it? I know I feel it, then I settle and let it flow for awhile, then it all builds up to a blow again. I am feeling it blowing again today - so thanks so much for this.
My thinking before reading this was to be abso-fucking-lutely amazed at what the Democrats have been doing over the last coupla days. Given that its seemed clear that they were elected to STOP this war and not START another one, I can't help but wonder if democracy is lost completely. I feel there are other, stronger forces at work to which our elected officials are beholden. So it may be time to say goodbye and move on.
But I am considering participating in a November 6th general strike.

Yeah, I did that 3 decades ago. Maybe I should have hung around in the US and caused trouble, but life is short. No doubt, with or without my residence there, the dynamic in the states is far worse now than it was when Reagan took office.
{I realize that the moving on context can be different things for different people.}
