We'll Miss You, E. Coli and I.

imgREMEMBER THIS VIDEO? Some of you found the idea peaceful to contemplate, others found it unsettling.

Seemed right to post the interview Jon Stewart did with the man who wrote the book. So you can be soothed...or distraught, some more.

I've known for a while that I've wanted to get more into sculpture at some point. I'd thought it would be wood...or maybe stone. I see now that I should choose bronze! So all the future microbes have something to play on, you know. That will be my first piece. I'll call it "One That Will Last" and it will be a microbe-sized bronze world.

I can't believe I missed this the first time around, Nez.

Me, I find it very encouraging to consider a world without us. I dont' even much mind the idea of a world with me, let alone a billion of me. In the same why I'm always thrilled to see wild animals inside of the city--I know that adaptation is going on, and we haven't totally tamed wildness at all, have we?

I just wish I could revisit in a couple hundred years to see for myself.
