Deep sadness. Deep, deep sadness. That's the emotion I felt watching this clip (although the tiny dancer did draw some laughter, too).

Back to the sadness though -- It's that sort of sadness like when a kid hears someone insult his mom or pop -- for being a drunk bum. The kid takes insult, says: you really don't know that person, that person is a good person. (But of course, both the insulter and the insulted are right -- the parent is a bum/drunk reckless dangerous person, but the real person lost inside is a good-hearted soul). That's how I feel about America right now.

America needs help. America needs some sort of spiritual/philosophical rehab to find its true self. Of course, all America's insides are the people here. But, the consumption has most of her drunk, unaware she's dying.

Americans need to wake up -- soon -- before everything this nation was dreamed to be disappears in a Romelike fall.

It's true in the short time of this nation's existance, the U.S. government's foreign policies have a long complicated legacy. But the Bush administration in the post 9/11 world has done some serious damage. This video is yet another indication of how the world no longer sees us as a welcoming land of the free.

I have to keep hoping we'll change this global perception before its too late.

america is so huge. and "successful." i think people want to like us. but we've pushed it beyond the bounds of reason. and when you have to live in fear of something capricious, mighty, and cruel, you hate. and that's what we're bringing to the world. not freedom. fear. and hate.

i keep hoping, too. why else go on? we must hope, and act on that hope. when we have the strength, and in whatever way feels right to each us. i think if we did turn it around, we'd have time to right our image. and not just that, but save our global ass!

but i don't know that we can. all the powers in place don't. seem. to. get. IT.

and to me the video is brilliant because it keeps swinging between horror and humor. thats a tuff walk.
