WELL, my friends. It's another year, and we're still here. Some of us. So let's enjoy, in whatever we ya do. Merry Crippins, as my oldest hija used to say, not being able to pronounce it. Merry Crippins to ya, and happy pine tree, and whichever ya be naming your holiday, if you have one, I hope it's damn fine. Thanks for taking the ride. See you in a couple for next year's predictions, and a tally of just how many I got wrong last year!

For selfish reasons it is the return of the sun, hinting at the warmer days to come, that I celebrate. I work outdoors and would rather work half naked in the sun than bundled up in layers, fighting the wet numbing cold and wind. If I did not have so much to pack, heading south, or perhaps sharing part of M's island might be a year round solution. Hurry up and buy the island! For now, I've settled on just moving south for a few days, roaming south Texas.
My best to you, your familia, and to all the readers and contributors to your communidad. You and they have made me a little bit better, and a bit more hopeful, thoughtful, and nicer.

Cero, you must live somewhere South of the Border. In PR, Christmas and all of its adjuncts have barely started. And this year {2008} Easter is on March 23, so Carnival really is very early too. I think it coincides with San Valentin.
