Imus and the Yawning

MOST SENSELESS and Useless and Unnecessary Quote Ever award goes to.....

'Dodd?' said one brief commenter at the liberal blog DailyKos. 'WTF???'”

—Dodd Falls Victim To Imus' Old Tricks On New Program

Because...if One Brief Commenter at DailyKos is confused, that's news! Sheesh.

ANYWAY, Imus is back on air. With two black co-hosts. No comment!

I have to tell you, more than anything else, I'm surprised the outrage at his NappyHeadedHardcoreHos comment was so huge. I'm glad it was. But that was more the shocker than that a fella with his shtick is back on the air in the USA. Of course he's back. But he seems sort of sad, now, no? Stained. Compromised. Because his whole gig was being balls-out. And now he's trying it again, slamming poor ole Dodd...but his snark just doesn't carry the same snap. After all, Imus was trounced by the nation. And everyone saw it. It's like trying to be cool again after your ass was kicked for lipping off to someone on the basketball court—and kicked hard. Like dropped against the curb and kicked to it Hard. Like running home while everyone jeers Hard.

And now he just looks pissy and used up, snarling at old senators and snatching for controversy. Even Dodd's attempt to make Imus look good after their brushup makes me sad. He just had to mention Imus' work on Autism, yeh.

Sorry, Imus. You're an icon of a dying breed of commentary and personality. Enjoy your life, career, and your cash flow, while all these things remain viable.

One of the great mysteries is how this cretinous and sour individual has had an audience for over 40 years. That says something pathetic about his listeners.
Howard Stern is also in that category and there are others. The public that wishes to suck up this swill is welcome to, but I have never understood the attraction.
There must be some kind of interesting verbiage there since James Walcott is an Imus fan, but whatever it is it seems well hidden. I had to listen to people I actually liked during Thanksgiving dinner say how great it was that Imus was back!
I can't figure it out.
