I'LL MOST LIKELY be deep in the mix for a day or more, compas. Don't hesitate to break into the fridge while I'm gone. House is yours.

okay i'll be the first to kick it off and say that all comments will probably be moderated for a while, i'm getting hit realllly hard by haterz n spam. must be the increased linkage from the mtv gig, dunno. either way, i plan to revamp the site in the early part of next year, so that all commenters will be required to register, as suggested by tomás el anglo. it will save me a lot lot lot of hassle and spam. i've been trying to avoid a registration system, but i think its the only way to go after trying everything else for a year and a half. cuz i hate captcha thingies, and HEY tomorrow is christmas eve!! time to lauch the war on christmas! get the eggnog u-boats ready!!!

Well the other link I was going to post is a little old...but found this quote from Julie Meyers ICE chief:

"We're always looking to see if we can improve, but I will say our immigration laws put people in a difficult situation sometimes -- I mean, the folks who come into our country illegally, then have a child and put that child at risk."

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-myers22dec22,1,2394058.story?ctrack=1&cset=true

(the link so you known its true)

First time I ever heard that having a child is putting that child at risk. And then places the blame on the parent, maybe she is trying to dehumanize the fact she is breaking-up families. My dark paranoid self sez there is something darkly disturbing about that statement, but I haven't figured it out yet.

The phrase "child at risk" is a little unsettling but trying to guess the convoluted synapses of most in power may not be possible for humans. I have the privilege of having an elementary school directly across my back yard fence, and I get to listen to the laughing, screams of joy, and watch the kids at play. When the day is over their playground turns into practice fields for soccer, football, baseball, basketball and unorganized groups of kids and parents just enjoying the outside.

Then I recall the presidential candidates, making their points about how tough they can be and that troops can be expected to remain in Iraq and Afghanistan until after the next eight years. Their posturing even includes the prospects of unilateral bombing of another country, Iran. Only their imagination limits their list of potential targets.

The kids I watch will be the spearpoint aimed at the next target when the next two presidential terms are over, a few months more than a mere 8 years from now.

Dear Julie..........Can you see outside of your little box? It does not matter whether these children have "legal" parents or not, your government puts them all at risk. I can't even comprehend what an "illegal" parent is, or a God that would recognize one.

kick it, ése.
