The Lying Tribe

THOUGH AT HEART, when pressed, I must admit that I inevitably return to the Bukowski doctrine of political thought, it's always good to remember how much the US Presidential products are marketed and trumpeted...or not.
Bill Richardson is a tested and proven leader. And it is not as if this is a secret. I mean five Nobel prize nominations?? Seriously. You'd think that would get him just a tiny bit of good ink, not to mention his healthy résume.
By "ink," I don't mean a cholo tat, of course. Though that would be fun to see.

Dodd, too, has always seemed like someone who acts with integrity, as well as who has a good amount of experience. But he is squeezed out of the discussion as well. Don't even get me started on my favorite UFO watcher and establishment ball-buster, Dennis Kucinich. He just keeps popping up, each election, raising the bar on what we are talking about, the MSM steps on him at every turn, and finally sighs a breathe of relief when he can't compete with the media's annointed idols.
Let's give Bill some more love for a moment. For being so stately and under the radar too much of the time.
I am not sure we wouldn't do well to summarily reject the candidates most celebrated by today's MSM as a matter of survival reflex. They are so consistently against our interests, at this point, it may be a case where being purely contrarian and reactionary would save us. After all, that's one of the things that points me toward Edwards (and Richards and Kucinich, etc) in the first place and away from some others, to tell you the truth. It's like a divining wand of sorts. Shimmies over the MSM pick, and points me the other way. I say "Oh, so [whoever] is your top pick it seems, and so that is my first option to strike. Let me take a closer look at the people the big media outlets wants to minimize."
After all, these MSM outlets are the same voices and structures that skipped, hand in hand with Bush (et. al.) to Baghdad! These are the outfits who sent gleeful hushie-whisper reporters by green nightscope rolling broadcasts toward a foreign city being wrongly demolished by our air strikes, and who now talk of "not recognizing" our country anymore, but even in such an apparently stark assessment, omit mentioning their own complicity! They rest it on "the voters" as if the voters can do much when fed a constant supply of bullshit by that same paper. These are the outlets with shared interests. And they share them with our government, not with you and me.
Did you ever hear that parable about how to survive an island on which are two tribes, one of which is cannabalistic? When one local tribe is known always to tell the truth, and the other local tribe is known to always lie? Today's MSM is that latter tribe, to my mind. I'm not about to ask them which way to the clearing, if you don't mind!

But you have to play the game, don't you? I mean, does the man not have speechwriters? Handlers? Where's his James Carville?
