At YKOS I was commenting to a fellow attendee that there should be impeachment proceedings or at least hearings regarding Cheney's actions. I was chastised that such inquiry would only "divide" the country and make people "angry" at Democrats. I responded that if people who self identify as "progressive liberals" didn't have the fortitude to demand impeachment, then what kind of signal does that send to young people who are looking for definitions of justice and information about who we are and what we stand for as a society? I got some tepid, condescending response indicating that I didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe not, but I know what is right. And the lack of commitment/resolve of the same people who have yelled the loudest about the "crimes" of Bush/Cheney is disheartening on a level that sometimes I can hardly bear. Go Kucinich!

i'm honestly baffled by these people, carmen. i dont know what stories they read growing up, or what their visions of truth and worth and reward and sacrifice are but...what a bunch of sad lameass comfy ring-grabbin posers they are. if you see a wrong, you go at it. you shout it out, you demand accounting.

now look at them, the dems are worthless as such. as a party. WORTHLESS. today the news is that they are pulling the contempt citations in order to work with bush on little checks to stimulate the economy. we are headed for a massive belly-up, checks or no. and its due to the same kind of cowardly rationalization and shirk. the GOP does whatever the effin hell it wants. both parties. they disgust me. they do NOT represent me.

People keep telling me Kucinich is too idealistic but technically speaking it's the others who are - Kucinich is the only one who is reality based and focused on something other than hedging bets.

What a horrible experience, Carmen ... at least it is for me when that happens, that condescending attitude. From silly people, too!

The anti-Kucinich statement I disagree with is that he's a fake and a shill for the Democrats, trying to make them legitimate. I would say he runs as a Democrat so as not to be too marginal. Am I blind?
