SUDDENLY I realize that I have not, in fact, been hearing a mewling cat somewhere outside my window since the dark predawn hours. Yes, suddenly I realize that I must have forgotten that recently I picked the "mewling cat" sound as an alert for my RSS feeder. So I'm very relieved. Because I was feeling both mystified and guilty in that every time I would remember to get up and find the poor thing, I kept getting coincidentally distracted by a new news item.
