The Return of Nezua

Categorized under MTV Camp | Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

¿QUE TAL, AMIGOS? I missed this blog! That's one of the things I realized on my (beautiful) break and breather away from this never-satiated page. I really enjoy the community here. Which is a kickass thing to remember. And I sure missed my home. But now I'm back from my whirlwind tour; my three day lovefest in 1515 Broadway, my three-day immersion into J-school, Film School, the MTV building, and most of all, a seriously weighty and nearly-ceaseless procession of instructive dialogues and video presentations and legal considerations and advisory sessions with everyone from Jay Rosen to Ron Fournier to John Norris to Sway to Eric Newton to the President of MTV herself.

Before I go any further, I say let's give a big hand (oh jeez, I think the MTV-camp speeches are rubbing off on me) to Sylvia aka M, the brainy and kind soul who helps me in a few ways and is clearly an innovator, as she is the very first person ever to be entrusted with the keys to the Limón-Jonez Pingdom. She did a knock-out job, and really demonstrated how much she understands the blog's vibe and intent. Which I very much appreciate. Gracias, mi amiga.

Well, listen. I am certainly gonna give you a rundown of my feelings and the experience. No doubt about that. But I don't have the time or energy at the moment. I came back with a tiny bit of a cold, having run down my body quite well, and it's taken me an entire day just to unpack, to read the 200+ emails that were awaiting me, and basically just to begin to relax again. I don't have long, because this gig is rolling, and I've got to get on it. But I am excited to begin this new angle, and while NYC MTV-Journo-SaveTheWorld-PumpUp Boot Camp was amazing, it was also wildly tiring. It's a long trip from Oregon to NYC, and it was a lot of energy and information and Do/Don't-age to deal with.

Just wanted to stop in and to let you know that your fearless jedi-cholo is back at the helm, and that in addition to the story of my trip (which had a quite enjoyable cap off at Zuky ranch) I will soon have a fun poll for you that will, like the last one, actually have an effect on this, our lovely unapologeticallymexalicious blog-turf. (See? You can make a difference in this world.)

Mañana!

Oregon welcomes you home! You've been well-represented by Sylvia in your absence.
