THE MASS MEDIA makes sure we are kept safe and aware of the dangers that threaten.
A woman who parked her car at a shopping center in the Egger Highlands neighborhood of San Diego was carjacked about 2:10 p.m. Sunday, police said.The 57-year-old woman had parked her vehicle in the second stall from a store and was getting out when a man put a gun to her head and demanded her keys, said police Sgt. Diane Wendell.
The robbber took the keys and fled in the woman's silver 2004 Mercedes C240 with California license plate 5GWG037.
He drove westbound through the parking lot. He was described as Latino, in his late 30s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150 pounds, with long hair in a ponytail.
Wait...It's me! Shoot. Now I'm scared of my DAMN self. I am missing the important part, however, the Mercedes. I suppose I can relax.
Perhaps the woman was Welsh? Or maybe French. Scottish? Polish. English? Irish! Eh. I'm totally guessing because the piece doesn't seem to say what her ethnicity is! But then again, I guess she's not the one we all have to keep our eyes open for, so it all makes sense.
As I know people in San Diego, I was a little worried upon reading this. I figured I'd scope out the news quick and see what other dangers were lurking. At this time, a Google News search on "arrested in San Diego" also brings us a black rapist, a black athlete arrested for assault, cops and ICE joining up to go on gang raids together, and a missing white woman who now has an amber alert sounded for her. (Oh, and her abductor is apparently her (Latino) boyfriend "Carlos.")
Hey, it's all in the news, and so clearly it's an accurate picture of the dangers out there. Watch out, people.

Coincidentally I was reading this post, as the Amber Alert was being reported on on MSNBC about the "missing white woman". The report stated that pregnant 16 year old was abducted by her boyfriend as they posted his picture, height and ethnic background.
Honestly, I braced myself and sat their hoping that the reporter did not continue and cite that the boyfriend was also an "illegal alien". I was relieved that did not happen, but still concerned it may surface in later reports.
The saga continues...
