His Legacy, A Graveyard
Categorized under Closing in on Bush , Guerra , Iran , Iraq the Casbah | Tags: bush, Iran, Iraq
Bush slinked in and out of Iraq for a quick unannounced photo-op and some handshakes on a heavily guarded American airbase. They never turned off Air Force One's engines... just in case the Iraqi people found out that the author of their misery was in the country. Now that he's murdered Saddam and his two sons, Bush's main nemesis in his world of power politics is Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. And he's in the midst of a much heralded, high profile visit to the country that it's self-declared "liberator" and "rebuilder" and "protector" is scared to death of.U.S. policy in Iraq-- i.e., Bush's war and occupation-- accomplished very little of what it set out to accomplish (other than the overthrow of Saddam Hussein and his subsequent brutal quasi-judicial murder)... unless you're Iranian. Bush's Iraq policies accomplished everything Iran has been working towards for decades. A hostile, war-like and implaccable foe dominating it's entire western border has been replaced by a supine, toothless failed state ruled largely by its allies and co-religionists. The single biggest instigator of Bush's Iraq agenda, darling of the clueless Inside-the-Beltway Neocon establishment, Ahmad Chalabi, was-- as the CIA and State Department warned Bush and Cheney (who didn't believe them)-- an Iranian double agent. Cheney and Rumsfeld may think he's swell, and still want to see him running Iraq, but he managed to get the U.S. to spend over a trillion dollars to accomplish most of Iran's goals for Iraq.
Meanwhile Iran and Iraq are celebrating a new chapter in brotherly relations in Baghdad today while Bush skulks around his pig farm in Crawford, Texas muttering darkly about Iranian nukes and terror exportation.
OR, as a MargeAggedon, commenter on C&L, put it:
He’s a disgusting, stupid, evil, cruel, self centered, self righteous, self deluded asshole. May he suffer every atrocity he has brought on the world ten fold. He will be loathed throughout history. His name a curse. His only legacy a graveyard.Be gone blight.
May winged devils haunt your every night.

Even though many Sunni and some Shia nationalists might want to kill Ahmadinejad, that he could have an announced visit yet Bush is sneaking around like a bad smell tells you how badly the occupation is thought of across all groups, after all to many occupation personnel they are all 'hajis'. All the newsotainment can't obscure such an obvious contrast and the cultural and maybe racist gulf between Iran/Iraq and America. And Iran and Iraq fought an 8 year war (with America backing Iraq and selling arms to Iran, kerching!) often likened to the slaughter of WW1.
Still, nice to see George can get a refreshing drink from a friendly soldier.

Iraq: A Hopeless Cause
It has been far to long and I am sick and tired of our country fighting a war we don't need. With all the problems in our country, why are we concerning ourselves more with others. It has been 4 1/2 years too long and we need to take action NOW!!!! The Bush Administration needs to take a closer look at their Bible, "remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye." (Matthew 7:5) While America has been paying attention to every other country, the U.S. has been experiencing economic problems, unemployment, a stalled housing market, and a growing deficit. Every day we fight this war all of those problems listed worsen, and as they worsen our country fails it's citizens more and more. If we don't end this war now it will never end. The world is moving to fast for us to waste time on meaningless conflicts.
