ANYWAY, I'm feeling burnt out on some of these conversations. Political swattings and virtual angers. Maybe this is a place to which I keep returning. So I guess I must enjoy it on some level. How perverse.

But I do need to step back, I'm getting too stirred up by some of the talk I'm reading. I need to stay away from places that reek of hostility or are primarily saturated with invective. I absorb it too easily. I need some air in there, some light, too. I want to make sure I'm still having fun. There is a lot of pain and hate and anger and hurt and death and bad news out there (hey and sometimes there is very good news), but I can know that and work on what I can and yet I dont need to be immersed in negativity.

This is a cycling reminder and will return to the hangar when done.

I appreciate that Obama has opened the can of worms he has. KKK affiliates will surely espouse their usual mind-numbingly dense vitriol, but the conversation seems to be moving over and through people in a very positive way mostly. I've seen a few impressive attempts on the teeveethingee where people actually tried to elevate the overall discussion in the face of resistance. That was encouraging! I know it has encouraged many people locally.

But I do need to moderate my reading and regulate my exposure, I find. No more Instapuke links or buchanan text. (Sorry.) And I do have to keep an eye on the political diet, I think.

My hair has grown long enough that it moves about my neck and over my shoulders. It feels very sensual on my skin. I don't think I'm allowed to say that as a male, right? I keep forgetting all the rules.

back to work.

Yeah, that's exactly how I feel about getting too sucked into the blogosphere - along w the brilliant commentary comes immersion in the increasingly convoluted forms of batshit getting critiqued.

Me too! I have to leave some of this negativity alone--'for I lay a can of whoopin on someone for no apparent reason.

As for the hair. Screw the man rules! If you are feeling the feeling of long hair-enjoy it. Man rule shman rules.

F*ckin creepoid graphic dude. I'm not going to sleep well tonight.

I need to stay away from places that reek of hostility or are primarily saturated with invective.

This is where I've become a complete coward. I don't read mainstream stuff at all any more. Unless somebody who I know is sane links to it, and even then I sort of see it thru rose-colored scare quotes.

I know what you mean. The negativity in the MSM just makes me want to throw up, and sucks out my will to live. It's somewhat telling that the horrible comments left by nativist soulless types outnumber our reasonable, intelligent comments 20 to 1. It's not so much that they reflect what the majority of people believe, it's that they thrive in that depraved environment, and we do not. We just can't stomach it day in and day out.
Enjoy your hair :)

The negativity out there always gets to me and drags me down. There are alot of issues, like politics for example, that I choose not to get into on my blog for this reason. It's also why I don't even watch mainstream news stations.

On the hair though, dude, your hair is freakin' beautiful. Do not let anyone else determine something that personal for you. And your title is so funny because I actually just watched that movie version this weekend and had that song in my head all day today at work, LOL.

I would just like to say that it is my conviction that longer hair and other flamboyant affectations of appearance are nothing more than the male's emergence from his drab camouflage into the gaudy plummage which is the birthright of his sex.

So go ahead and love it.

kick it, ése.
